Headers are ceramic coated. I hope the paint on the plastics holds. It is just flat black. I tested a matt clear laquer over it but it didn't look as good do going to see how this lasts. The laquer over the stickers would have been better too - edges might peel.

Been fighting with ECM SPY all evening and yesterday. Finally got it to go from German to english and find it's port but it doesn't want to load my EEPROM so that I can save it before I fiddle. Will persevere. So close now. Hard to believe that I have still have never ridden a Buell. It didn't run when it arrived on a trailer from up country so all I had was a quick burn up the driveway on one cylinder.

Took my Husky Motard out this evening to get some air anyway in the mean time. This weekend would have been the big one but I have to drive 800km to my farm and back to do some maintenance. Oh well, it has taken a lot of patience so far - I should survive another week.

Finally got it going. Running like a dream. Now glad that the local tuning man refused to touch the bike because I had worked on it. It forced me to keep going myself and eventually work out the software issues. (with the help of people on this forum). Only sorry at this point that my subframe spacer has still not arrived from Dieselmoto who sent me two lefts then sent me the right. It left USA on 23 July and has disappeared in the SA postal service. Doesn't keep me off the road but the rear end is just not right without that extra lift.

Did a very careful ride for a few blocks on the wet roads with new polychain, tire, pads, rear disc, re-bled brakes etc to check that nothing fell off. Seems all ok so far. Some sunshine would be good - let's hope tomorrow allows a longer ride.

The joy of hearing that startup after completely reloading the EEPROM from the net and setting the TPS.
