05 Blast won't run right

Bought my son an 05 Blast so we can share the joy of being a Buell owner. Bike was running right until a couple of days. It seems to cut off as he is driving down the road. I did notice that there is some type of clicking coming from the airbox every once in a while. You can feel it when you place your hand on the box cover. I think its the carburetor doing it and it does it at idle. I don't know if that's the problem but I thought I would share it. I have not checked the spark plug or anything else out besides removing the box cover. I did see that the filter could be replaced. The bike is stock. Any help or information is appreciated.
