Just curious if anyone has put an exhaust on an 08? I wanted to get a drummer but I'm leaning towards a jardine, No K&N since there isn't an ecm. Any thoughts on how it would work out?

I have a 2008 XB12 (Euro) with an open Remus exhaust, with the original ECM. No problems until now (2.000 miles). ;)

Yes you can put any pipe you want on it and the stock ECM should learn the pipe after about 15 miles or so. That is it though if you put a filter on it then you will need the ECM remapped.

Thats good news because I bought a Jarine RT one, and I just got it today but get this. They sent a RT-four can, but all of the mounting pieces are for the Buell. Call me crazy but the can looks the exact same as the RT one. Do you guys know what the difference in the canisters would be? if there even is one. B/c I bought it on ebay and I know it's going to be a hastle sending back. Here are some pics and let me know what you think.

From the pictures it looks just like the RT-one that I have on my bike. What makes you think it is an RT-four?

There's a sticker that says it, I'm like you they look like the same thing. Is it only a sticker that makes it a different exhaust?

Just a little follow up. The guy at Jardine said the rt four is round, and since my can is oval it was the wrong stickers on it. So as soon as I get my bike back from the 1k service that baby is getting slipped on. Can't wait!

How do you guys feel about Micron pipes? I put them on mine, sounds awesome but I'm not sure if the ECM is adapting to it correctly.

Best thing you can do with a Micron set up is re-map your stock ECM. I haven't had good luck with full exhaust systems trying top run things like a Dobeck.

you can get away with stock ecm, airfilter and an aftermarket pipe...but once you change airfilter or use a complete exhaust system with header, you deffinatly need to remap you ecm.

even a race ecm wouldn't give you what you need.

if you get the ecm mapped, you will notice a very big difference...trust me :D
