First of all, I did search... did not find what I am looking for.

A little background info... I purchased this bike second hand, it was purchased by PO from the person who put it together, it is originally an 05... heres where it gets hairy, something happened to the original engine (the PO could not verify what), at which point a 08 parts bike was aquired and the bike was fully updated to 08 spec (ALL but the frame). I have fully inspected the bike and found this to be true.

The bike has been running badly, sputtering while cruising and even dieing sometimes at idle. Once it even cut out while taking a long sweeper at 80+ in 5th(scary!). I have done the TPS reset for 08 bikes multiple times, and it works great for the first 20miles... then it gradually gets worse.

I am getting 5 codes by manually pinning the diagnostic port;

11 = TPS (have not figured out why yet

15 = IATS (I forgot to plug it in when inspecting the bike, this could be the cause?)

33 = Fuel Pump (one of pins came loose and the PO taped the wire over to get it to touch, worked long enough to get it home and then it quit, after several hours of diagnostics, and pulling the fuel pump out of the bike only to find it was still good, I found the real issue, loose pin. Now fixed, code still present after 300 miles of riding.

44 = BAS

47 = ??? (anyone know what this is?)

Thanks for reading...

Well according to my '09 Electrical Manual, 47 is Auxiliary Relay Driver Circuit.

"The ECM controls the ground to the coil side of the auxiliary relay. The ECM monitors this circuit and sets a code if it does not see the expected input."

The ECM stores these codes for 50 start cycles - the manual says "After correcting system problems, clear the trouble codes. If the DIGITAL TECHNICIAN II is not available, perform 50 start and run cycles. To execute one run cycle:
1. Start the vehicle.
2. Let it run for at least 30 seconds.
3. Turn the engine off."

I'm guessing that unless you have used the bike a lot the IATS & Fuel pump errors at least are historical?

Its been started about 10-15 times since I've put the bike back together and corrected the IATS and fuel pump, so I will agree with you. Thanks for the answer! Rep for you.

Now... what the heck is an Aux Relay? :D

The AUX (auxiliary) relay provides switched power for accessories. On the later bikes they included the ECM in the circuit to allow it to switch off the relay if a low battery voltage condition was sensed.
They do this by the ECM providing the ground path for the relay and if the battery voltage goes low then the ground path is removed.
The ECM must be looking for voltage via the AUX relay winding and posts this error if it doesn't 'see' it.
I imagine that this could happen with the AUX relay removed, the relay bad )open circuit) or the wiring related to this broken / cut.

Thanks! I checked the relay and it is indeed missing. I cycled the engine on and off a few more times today. I hope I am getting close to clearing codes... I really hate going to the stealership. I also did the CC vent reroute which seems to have helped a little. The rough running issues aren't completely gone though, but hopefully after the codes are cleared it will get a little better yet. Just hoping.

Update; for those search similar issues in the future.

A local buell guy brought out his ecmspy cable, got lucky cause I have the early version of the 08 ECM thats never been update and it works with ecmspy perfectly. We cleared the codes, reset the TPS, and the bike runs great!! Has more power, no backfiring, no cutting out, no stalling... flawless. Like a brand new bike SHOULD run.

I am SO happy! :D
