Hey guys I went and installed my K&N filter tonight and noticed what most people call a velocity stack "from throttle body up to air filter" was melted on one side and bottom of air box was melted a bit, just charred not dis-figured. The only issues I have had is, I had it foul the plugs this weekend, and I put new E3's in it and it ran great, now its kinda more on the 1 1/2 cylinder side as its cold out yet but i had it in shop, i'm thinking all the frost/etc but will do plugs again if i have to, but anybody have the stack catch on fire? Also, where can I get the see thru air box covers? Can't seem to find any. Looking for red, or orange

I just got done installing my D&D this last saturday. My plugs fouled and I cleaned them up and it started for a bit, and when i got back to north dakota i went to fire them and they fouled, it started and won't run for crap. I did a tps reset and all, I just started it before the engine could warm up, its been like -35 wind chill outside.

Biggest problem with a d&d is your fuel mapping. Stock and even race maps are not even close to what you need. I would suggest you getting the bike running correctly with some ngk plus and tune it

Check to make sure that the charcoal canister line is plugged on the throttle body and that the velocity stack is all the way seated and that you don't have a air leak...
The fire was more then likely caused by a couple of different things..... If you over fill your oil and ride at high rpm's your breather will kick a lot of oil into the air box and the velocity stack sucks it up.....
Causes the plugs to fail........ Then it's like final destination.....
Back fire.....rare fire.... And melted parts.....
