Just thought I would share my run in with a GTR... Pretty awesome opprotunity if you ask me!!

I pulled onto the interstate and while I was still on the on ramp I saw some cool looking headlights in my mirrors(I had to engage the clutch to actually make out what kind of car ir was due to vibration) so I slowed to around 45-50 and let him catch up. There were no cars around us for a good ways up and behind so it was pretty safe. When the car rolled up next to me I swear the kid couldnt have been older than 22! I live in Tampa, FL so there's lots of $ around... anyways I nodded ahead and rolled the throttle a little and his buddy in the passenger seat(20yrs old as well) started counting to 3. On 3 I was in 2nd gear and let him get the jump. As soon as I knew he was on it I pinned it and crept by him... and at 140 I shut down about a bike n 1/2 ahead! Of course he flew by me at that point and kept going but I was pretty pumped... not every day you get to race a GTR on the Highway!!! I have owned 11 other bikes in my life and this might not be the fastest... It's definitely my favorite!

I think I just read an article on HFL not too long ago about and RSV4 beating a GTR around the track. Ill see if I can dig it up.

I had a Lancer Evo try keeping up/passing me on one of my favorite twisties. I was fun to play the mouse, he never passed, obviously.

that's 2 beautiful machines!!! The one I raced was same color too! My brother has a C6 vette H/C and supercharged putting down 640RWHP and ran a newer body style CBR 600 and beat him from a 50-160 roll by a couple cars... so there are still surprises for us out there! ;) Either way it's always fun!! I'm not a hooligan like I once was but I couldn't pass that chance up with the GTR!!

thinking of it from the car's point of view, if i was in the car i wouldve thought that i won.

i'd be thinking that i won the early part of the drag race, then i was loosing a bit in the middle and just as the bike barely passed my front fender, the bike ran of of steam and my hundreds of horsepower took over for the win.

something like that.

im sure he's already posted about it in some forum somewhere. 'i beat a crotch rocket! and i only had to spend $100K bucks to do it!'

well when I looked down at 140 I let off completely, plus we were approaching traffic pretty quickly... There was none at first but we caught up to some pretty quick! I'm pretty sure he new what the business was!!

Good Times same thing here late at night but stoplight to stoplight. It was 1986 i was on a 1985 nighthawk S racing a Buick regal 6 turbo ---- Big fun!!!

A couple weeks ago I had a go with a newish viper and actually stayed with him!! I was impressed.

I raced a fella in a comaro with nitrous and left him while he was searching for traction. His car was set up for show, but the wrong set-up to make it go....... [confused]

they did a race over here at brands hatch with a bmw s1000rr and a nissan gtr, the bike won, but only just, it got the drop on the car with accelaration so it was in front, but the car could brake later and corner faster, it just didn't have the grunt to pass the bike on the straight

I haven't been on a ride with another bike yet(with the CR) and I'm going with a buddy of mine soon with a 08' gixxer 1000. I know he will walk all over me but I have a good bit of experience riding bikes hard so I'm curious to see how we fare in some twisties if I can find some good ones around here!!

If your Cr as any work done to it(i.e. EMC pipe. You will have no problem kicking his butt.No matter how much HP you have if you can't control it it does'nt matter!:p

Cool vid but pretty short track at .9 miles. I would imagine the GTR would do a lot better on something with longer straits and 2 plus mile track. I'd love to see this on Road America.

Actually the GTR has greater corner speed and brakes later before/into the corner. Longer straights mean the bike would make a bigger time difference.

Agreed, but the power to weight favors the bike on short tracks. looking at the British article you can see the GTR is more at home when it can get it legs going.
