I see a few of you guys have been using 200 rear tires. How many miles do you have on them and what is the brand? I don't get to ride the back roads that much, so I'm more concerned with getting a long life out of them. I put 9,000 miles on last year and really don't want to buy a tires half way in season. Any help and info would be great.

I had the 190 on my bike and when cornering you never reach the softest spot of the tire since the tire rolls in on a wheel meant for 180. I went back to the 180 and its way better. I get right on the edge of the tire in corners and thats where all the grip is.

I travel highway all the time. My biggest curves are two off ramps I hit on the way to work. So I never hit the edge.

Does it have to be a 200? I'm currently at over 10k miles on my pilot road 2's in the 180 flavor with a lot of life still left in them. I guess you could do a 200 in those...but I don't know why you'd want to...

here's a "tomahawk" 200/50 r17 i put on last fall, after i got my bike running again. had a set of pirellies, but the rear tire didn't fit, so i threw this on. $100 and still going after 8K miles. prob go with a shinko, pilot or something next. but def 200. [up]
