2002 S3T derby cover gasket

When I removed the cover the gasket came out too. Checked it; looked goo so I tried to reinstall. Buttoned her back up and she leaks. Get a new gasket. Stiil leaks.

WTF am I doing wrong here??

Over tightening it and smashing the gasket out of place maybe?

sometime they slip out of place . wrong toque sequence . Some kind of burr in the sealing surfaces. (lightly stone surfaces before Assembly ( if problem leaking exist)
Something not letting the cover slide all the way into place.

Ok i have a dumb question. Where is the derby cover? How about a pic.

Sorry......technically it's the clutch inspection cover.....the large cover to the right of the primary chain inspection cover............

Its much smaller on the xbs toolmaker, on a tuber it looks just like a sportster one, a big round cover on the rear part of the primary cover that's about the size of the clutch
