What are the steps to removing the old front brake pads? I removed the two bolts holding the caliper to the fork, but there isn't room to pull the caliper away to get at the pads. Do I need to remove the front disk? I did loosen the screw holding the brake line to the fender, but didn't provide enough room either.
Thanks

cyclone: some on here wiggle things about and/or loosen up rotor to remove caliper but i find it easier to just lift up front of bike, remove fender, remove front axle and wheel (axle left hand thread-look at stamping on left fork lower leg and arrow)and then the caliper. only takes a few minutes. for me it makes it easier to check and clean up rotor and its attachment hardware. be sure clean up the caliper very well and check for free movement prior to installing new pads. and pump up caliper with the brake lever prior to riding which pushes the pads back out against the rotor. can be scary if you miss this step.

that youtube video is very good if you only want to replace the pads and not inspect anything. personally i like to remove caliper assy., remove pin and pads, then inspect and clean the caliper and lube slider pins prior to reinstall and new pads. but that's me.
