Hi.

I found a local deal where somebody wants 4gs for a low mileage break in period 2006 Firebolt.

I've had the XR1200X for 2.5 years & I can't afford another bike so I'm tempted to trade or sell the XRX. I have a strong emotional attachment to it & I'm worried I'll regret it later. It has never had any issues.

I just found the Firebolt about three in the morning. I sent the dealer an email. They're closed on Sundays.

I know test riding is gonna answer most of my questions, but while I wait, is 2006 a decent year? It seems a few places I've checked feel 07-09/10 are the best. why?

If I love this bike, I don't want to move backwards, & I'm feeling a little concern with my new endeavor. It would be nice to not have such a heavy bike.

Crank upgrade is probably the biggest factor on a later model one. Mine's an 03 xb9 and it does just fine for scooting around on. I lean it over more than I did my 1125 on the street based on the size of the chicken breasts on the tires. The xb is a pretty solid bike all around, although I bought mine after I'd had an 1125 for a few years. I've since upgraded to an 1190 rx, which is a whole other animal.

I have a 04 XB 12r with 43000 miles only problem I have had is stator then the regulator
