OK so im thinking about buying a 2007 xb12r with 24k miles. The guy says the rocker box needs a gasket replaced. Id be getting it for 2500-2700$ Is this a hard fix? Costly? Any help as quick as possible would be awesome!

if it's just a rocker box gasket it's an incredibly easy fix, maybe a couple hours time. you'd maybe spend $50 including beer (in my case Gin) if you already have the tools to do it. That's a damn good deal. The lower rocker gasket and upper gaskets I think run you around 25. I'd personally rotate my engine to change them, we have a walkthrough of how to do that. It's pretty much the same on all xb models, the newer ones have less wiring to worry about though.

Where are you located?

Mine was diagnosed with a rocker box leak yesterday. It's the rear, which requires an engine rotate... shop said ~10hrs, and $30 in parts.
So... cheap to do yourself, but may get expensive at $84/hr (or whatever your shop charges)

There is no way in hell that takes 10 hours, I did a uly 3 times in 1 day because I couldn't figure out an issue with an intake leak and that's with waiting around trying to think of solutions.
