2008 Buell XB12Scg Questions????

This is my 2nd Buell (previous bike was an '06 XB12R). I was planning on a D&D muffler, BUTTTTT in order to put a K&N filter on it to perform better, there is NO ECM remapping available (from what I could research)! Any advice, suggestions, ideas???

OH YEA, I emailed a D&D muffler tech, he said that I need NO other mods, that the D&D muffler should bolt right up to the bike with no other mods (meaning: no performance air filter or reprogramming the computer). Any knowledge is definately appreciated!!!! Thanks guys

I think early 08 ECMs were remapable. I don't know how to tell if it is or not though.

If you don't have that ECM, I would wait until the map is available.

Ya, im on an '08 XB12R and there is no re-map available yet. They will not be making Race ECMs anymore. My question, I guess would be for BPG, but could I take an '07 race ecm and have it re mapped for my bike? I really hate that I cant upgrade my airfilter/exhaust yet.

Thaloc I read in many places that we can upgrade exhaust and air filter no problem on the 08/09. It might not run 100% right but well for me it wouldn't make a big diff since my bike as been runing like crap since I have hit 1000 km

Bad idea JSG. Our bikes run lean from factory, you put a highflow air filter and a better exhaust and dont re-map your engine is going to run extra lean.

Give Al a call at American Sportbike and see if they worked out the bugs on using DirectLink or ECMSpy to re-map 08 ECM's yet.
