Help Support Buellxb Forum:

apparently you're missing my point that zx 14 is soon to go. kawasaki is introducing bikes that take sales from the 14; 14 concourse and zx10 and now the 1000. people are realizing that they're not worth it. and if it's for straight lines what should lean angles do with it? even if we're talking about a couple mm in differance between bikes either way they are impractical for knee dragging.
touring wise they are hard on your wrists and have poor wind protection. i would take a maintainance free shaft drive over a chain any day.

i'm gonna agree to disagree we have very differant interests.

seeing as my bikes not wrecked i'd rather be out doing this instead of forum fighting.

i'm gonna say i'm not even interested in touring anymore so i can care less about it since
i rode from portland to orange ca and back up to ak in a week and a half earning my iron butt twice. touring is best done in a plane.

I would take having to lube a chain over shaft jack any day

and I sport tour on my buell so a 14 would be more wind protection and less lean angle

you are right for a sports bike they are not worth it

but if you buy it for a purpose that is not mountain roads or maximum performance it is a fine bike.

for a sport touring bike they are great
the connie and FJR are way more tour than I want at this point, I would just feel way too old

but after a 1,000 mile weekend on the lightning a more relaxed bike would be nice to add to the stable

by no means would I replace my lightning with the zx-14
its just got a different use, just as a dirt bike would do other things better too

mine either

but it it only 45degrees outside right now

and interests should have nothing to do with what is or isn't a good bike, I don't like adventure bikes at all, but that doesn't make a uly a bad bike, and a dual sport is lighter faster and more capable off road, that still doesn't make a uly a bad bike

apples and oranges my friend :D[up]

You can keep that chain maintenence and noise ********. Shaft drive is worlds better.
I have ridden with two guys on Connie 14's that would flat out embarrass most of us. Lean angle and heavy weight my ass these guys can make these things rock!

Jim

still looks basically the same as every crotch rocket out there im sure its fast as **** for but u dont need it on the street. i would still never trade my buell

hyper bikes are not just for touring and high speeds they can lay over just as good as are buells you just have to know how

you know how far he's extending to get that knee down?

it's not a matter of skill it's a matter of over reaching. hell even in my picture i'm over reaching. i highly disagree with you the lean angle.

its the rider not the bike you can pull up pics of on goldwings and harleys out performing guys on buells

oh yea I agree a hyper bike can tear it up, I have watched a hayabusa take an R1 on the outside line.

and I know that connies rock they just arn't for me
shoot I have seen what a goldwing can do and they rock too! but still not for me.
I am a little old school in my thoughts about motorcycling, me the bike the road and as little extra stuff as possible. my GPS is a map folded up and visible through a window in my tank bag.

shaft is great for no maintenance but with that much power I would think that the shaft jack would be intense, if I am wrong please tell me because I have never ridden a connie and they could have taken care of it beautifully. I know that a connie or FJR would be addicting but the styling isn't for me and its just too soft and cushy, with its big adjustable windshield heated everything and power outlets; it would make me weak :D lol
what would I do when I got back on my buell with none of that stuff? (maybe cry[sad])

this with soft bags and an aux fuel tank is my long haul wet dream, and if a connie shaft drive doesn't jack I would find a way to retrofit it on there too

now you get a guy that can run circles around sport bikes while riding a hyper bike I bet he would really put it down if you put him on a sport bike

but that doesn't make a hyper bike a bad handling bike by any means (or a sport touring bike for that matter)

me and him are super extending that pic is from last year. when i was practicing in a target parking lot.
hes not even dragging footpeg. heres one to compare to.

im sorry you didnt like your busa or what ever large I4 bike you had

Me too, but not settling! None of us could even use 200hp to its potential, its for people with small penis's that like to say they have 200hp.

Some of us well endowed like to say we have catastrophic amounts of HP!
