I'm getting parts together for a chopper project and I am considering a Buell Lightning XB12r motor to power it. (Why not, cheaper than a sportster motor, more reliable and more power right?!) I understand that the mounting system is different from the older Sportster/Buell twins. I know I would have to fabricate a mount system to work with a tube frame, but it should not be too big a deal for me....:D I was wondering if you guys have any good pictures of the mounts on your bikes so I can get a good idea of what I need to do before I buy the motor. All of the pictures I've found online are not very good.

Thanks

sorry bro... wish I could help ya but I know very little about the mechanics of motorcycle... i just replied because i've noticed that people have read your thread but hasnt replied... its probably because most of the people on here are Buell Enthusiasts and wouldnt think twice about doing what your doing to it. Most fringe at the idea of drastically changing the Buell... but hey im always down for being creative and original... hopefully that project works out for ya

I have seen many Buell Choppers and a guy I used to Jeep with had a S1 bobber he built. Post some pics when your done we would like to see it.[up]

I would not be changing a Buell just using a salvaged powerplant from a wrecked or damaged one. Thanks for the replys, if anyone could snap a couple of quick photos that would be great! :D
