Hi people!

My name is Johan and I'm from Belgium. I've been driving a 125cc scooter [sad] to work for a few years now and was finally fed up with it this summer. Did my permit and started looking around for a bike. After lots of thinking, reading and talking to people I decided to buy myself a Buell.
This forum was a huge help in deciding if it was the bike for me.
Anyway, since last friday a brand new 09 black XB12Scg is sitting in my garage. Biggest engine I've driven in the past was a street-prepped Husq 610TC, so it took some getting used to, but I adapted quickly (doing a cross country trip helped ;) ) and I must say I absolutely love how it drives, handles and looks.

Right now I can live with its stock look (Select seat counts as stock right?), but I'm sure the modding will start sooner or later, but probably in 2010.

Things on the to-do list are:
* pm-Performance tail rise (have the parts already, I hate easy internet orders :D)
* rightside-scoop
* S-o-C Sharknose tail
* Led-turnsignals
* different mirrors
* remove decalls from windscreen
* Possibly a louder pipe, mainly because I need people to hear me when driving through traffic jams.
(Am I the only one that thinks the bike feels loud when you're on it, yet people in cars barely seem to hear you?)

The one thing I'll do asap is the breather mod. I'd like to use a nice catch can (if anyone is in to machining them themselves as an alternative to the ASB one, let me know) since it fits nicer imo.

If you have any other must-have mods or cool ideas, let me know!

To summarize: a big thank you to you all!

J.

Welcome! One of our Senior Mods, Lefox, is also from Belgium. I'm pretty sure he's in Gent.

Let's see some pics!

Welcome, It seems that you are on the right track. Good luck have fun and be careful.

Lol... talk about an upgrade! 125cc scooter up to a 1200cc? That's just awesome. :) (I don't know why, that just makes me smile)

Welcome.

Congrats.

It seems Belgium has more Buells than any place on earth!

There must be a sticker under the air box cover: "Buell, gebouwd voor België" and "Buell, construits pour la Belgique" :D

to the Forum Belz. Congrats on your bike. Might suggest doing the Both Headlights On mod and frame pucks if you like.

Thanks for the welcome guys!

@Nuage420b
I ordered them from Twinmotorcycles.nl, had them the next day. Let me know if I can help out in any way.

@Stevenc150
The 'both headlights on' mod has definitely caught my eye. I always thought the light for the high beam was a stronger one, but it seems it's not so I won't be blinding people when both are on. Frame-pucks were installed upon delivery.

I'll be taking some pics tonight to monitor my mod progression and post them.

belz (johan)

where you at?
i see you already know where to be for mods & good tuning service.

welcome and have fun with the bike! ;)

Hi LeFox,

I'm from Meldert, small village right next to Aalst, not too far from Ghent, but in Belgium nothing is far right? :)
Are you still selling the right side scoops btw? I noticed they sell the same model on that dutch site I mentioned, but thought I'd check with you first.

J.

nah, it's not the same...

martin & dris sell the one from free spirits. i don't know, but they could sell the one from pegasus, as they know the manufacturer too, but it's not advertised.

anyways, come by hd/buell ghent 27sep...gear up and ride is there and got a ride planned at 13h.

Nice, I'll check with the missus what my schedule is for that day [smirk]... I'm very inexperienced so I hope newbie riding skills are tolerated.
Example? Yesterday I thought: hey, I got some km's on her, let her rip once to see what it does... I probably didn't lay down enough because I couldn't reach the clutch handle to put it in 5th because of the wind trying to pull me off. Fun though! :D

Hunker down and squeeze the frame with your legs/knees. Very Fun!
