Acts Like An Intake Leak???

I have an 04 XB12S that had a Jardine slip-on exhaust and recently after the bike is good and warm, the throttle takes forever to come down to idle making me think it was an intake leak. I just had a Micron exhaust system installed and after a few days it seems to be getting worse. The mechanic who I trust said he checked the intake and there is no leak. Any ideas? It only occurs after a few miles on the highway to get the bike good and hot.

We discussed that but why only when it gets really warmed up? I can run around city streets and it is fine, but once I get on the freeway and crank it for a few miles it stays that way until I park it.

My bike would do this to but just everynow and then and it's the opposite mostly happens after sitting in traffic...

the circuits in the tps get hot and break down.this is a common problem with late 90 and early 2000 fords.buell runs a ford tps.it could also be a IAC valve dont know if the early xb has one but my 09 does.just trying to give you some ideas.

if the idle is set kind of high it can hang according to the manual. when it does settle at an rpm what is it?

Mine is doing the same thing. Possible intake leak. Before I do anything mechanical to the motor I will do a TPS reset first after my cable gets here.
I spent several hours trying to get some Genuine James intake seals here in DFW area and came up empty handed. So I ordered some from a non HD dealer here in town. I was thinking it wouldn't be hard to get the seals but...
The James Part# for my 05 XB12R is: JGI26995-86-A
The Buell part # is: 26995-86B

After a TPS reset for good measure, set idle as close to 950 as you can. Can make a world of difference

Edit: Oh, and be sure you've got the bike fully warmed up before adjusting idle 'cause it makes a huge difference also.

The way you put it, it seems that on the highway the bike is learning and applying the changes to a bad tune. Should really consider a tune but also double check the intake leak as well.
