Finally downloading the hundreds of pictures I have from my tour last year , figured I'd share most of them with you hope you enjoy them

And then on the hottest day off in southern Afghanistan at 140*F we had some fun on the fob with a Grunt made slip n slide

this brings back a lot of memorys for me. I had a much different experience, but seeing stuff like that brings it all back, 1980s.
My first assignment was a rapid deployment team in the US and did TDYs in Asia and believe it or not, Canada,
then over to Turkey for 3 years with TDYs all over, a quicky into egypt, some to spain, Italy, greece, and forward ops support for NATO missions as well as 8 months on a UN Peace keeping mission supporting Canadian Air crews at the end of the Iran-Iraq war. I offloaded a lot of munitions we supplied both sides during the war at Incirlik.

No US personell were supposed to enter either country but,,,, well we did,

a bit of irony?? Donald Rumsfeld was the chief US diplomat working WITH Saddam supplying him weapons, intelligence and other support during that war. Ironic he was the architect of the war AGAINST Saddam years later eh? We aided both sides to perpetuate that was as long as we could as it was in our interests to keep them occupied with each other, look what happened after Iranians and Iraqis stopped killing each other.

I came pretty close to going back in as active guard around 2000,,, I did a 6 year enlistment before (4 plus extensions) as regular Air Force. I have lot of friends who served in Iraq and Afghanistan, so thanks for serving, and i think of those over there all the time.

people who never go, dont understand. I have dreams all the time, Ive been deployed and have to leave, or dreams about i AM deployed,

On a lighter note,,,,,,, I still laugh about the Korean girl at Koonsan who told me in a bar,,,
"You TDY GI?,, Me TDY too!"

kuwait, Iraq, Saudi...been there done that and got the many t-shirts have spent 20 yrs in and out of that part of the world...don't care to see it again
