I guess its different for each unit,some are more laid back than others but Our chain of command bashed OPSEC into our heads months before and during the deployment.. before I ever posted any pictures online I cleared it with them, just to double check and make sure I wouldnt be in the wrong.. only reason I felt comfortable doing it

Not going to get into any of the USFORA policies but you know that pictures of damaged/destroyed cobat vehicles are classified secret. not just marines not just army all of afghan. So yes I said discretion. You are not supposed to even have pictures of it. Yes the news shows video and pictures cleared through military advisors at levels well beyond you. Not getting into a pissing match with you but don't argue when it could be traced back to you and UCMJ enacted upon you for your actions. Maybe you should ask a mod to remove your post, before one of the many military members on the board feel the need to report this to their chain of command.

All I see is a photo showing the survivability of our equipment, following a catastrophic event. Crew compartment is intact.

Lets get off the issue of what the photos show, and get back to the accolades for a job well done.

Yes seriously. This SPC needs to be aware that everyone is watching. He has given away exactly where he is, when he is leaving and shown that his unit cares little for proper wear of protective gear. This may not be a big deal to most of you, but in the world he lives in it can ruin tactics, careers, and put lives at risk. If you don't believe me, SPC Rankin those pics of HWY1 are beautiful. Is that RC East your in?

I never once stated where I was at. Im glad you "think" you know where In afghanistan.

And how was I trying to "prove" I am a badass? If you ever would have met me in person you im probably one of the most humble people out there.

If you wanted to make a big deal of this you could have used a private message instead of blowing up the thread, thats what its there for.

If you feel the need to report it, go ahead. I went through my proper channels as far as I could going straight up to our full bird, and was told it would not be a problem.


also i never once stated either when i was leaving. yes I said a ballpark to when im would be back in NY but not once what FOB, flight dates or times, not to mention demob, and anyone that has been to afghanistan know getting there and flying back to the states can have a few day layovers here and there in different countries
