sorry forgot to rotate the picture...the small black tube on the bottom that sits just behind the heel guard thing. Just wondering if its normal or not

Yeah we got a couple roads up here and traffics not even that bad really. Oh and they redo the roads yearly so its usually pretty smooth.

So i got a question. I had to ride the other day in the rain. When i stopped my bike and turned the key to off it kept running i had to use the kill switch to kill it. Not only that my headlights no longer work. Could this have been caused by the rain?

Well first off, you should always use the kill switch to turn off your bike and then turn your key off... Check your fuses!

You may have bad Start and/or Key Switch relays. That's what it seems like after looking at the wiring schematic anyway. Expecially since you're bike stays running and the Lights won't come one. During normal start procedure, the Lights will cut out (relay latches for Start circuit) while the Start button is pushed. Then when you release it, the Lights should come back on. I'd swap those out for new ones and try it.

Then again, it may be as simple as a connector or you're relay box base being loose, corroded, etc. Check those first, but sure sounds like the relays may be staying "latched" for some reason.

Hmmm...so i went out and looked at it and i noticed that my High Beam indicator stays locked on even when the switch is set to low beam. I will double check the fuses when i get home and can sit and look.

Buell also had a recall on this issue as well. Mine does it from time to time I just deal with it. I think its a relay problem.

I think it is intermittent. unfortunately it started to rain and fog up on the ride home so i dipped off asap and ran the backroads home. When i got home the lights were actually coming back on but very very dim. Ill keep you posted because it was cold as hell when i got off the bike i didnt want to sit in a cold garage and work...
