Airbag motorcycle jacket anyone?

its inflated before impact because its supposed to inflate before you impact the ground... Ideal conditions for this thing to work is you fly a decent distance in the air prior to making friends with anything hard. Which is y I like d-air's idea putting a computer that monitors the bikes motion for wreck conditions instead of a pull tether. Honda goldwings have a similar airbag concept

There's a lot of tension on this thread. Lets get a bondfire going and become friends again.

(HUGS)

im down for a bonfire and a toke anytime, but not with anyone who cant handle the heat, lol.. pun intended.

but back to riding,..
my first helmets getting delivered today, cant wait to finally ride my bike outside of my condo complex! haven't had one to do so since i got the bike. the bike is now insured and registered and now i wont get pulled over for no helmet,.. but if i did get puled over i wonder if the cops would really give me a ticket for no M license yet. i mean how an i suppose to learn and pass the driving test next week if i don't get a few real miles under me ya know? :)

I live in Vegas,.. so i'll stick to the outskirts of town,.. maybe ride past red rocks. cant wait for the jacket to get here too!

Ahh, I see, so you attach yourself to the bike with a string? Then when you forget to detach and get off the bike, it inflates. Then you can go for a swim.

Sounds good.

DIYer, go get your permit. Pretty easy test where I live. Read the the motorcycle manuel at the DMV, memorize all the Q&A's in the book, take the test, pass. You have to get that before you can get your license anyway, at least where I live.

it wont inflate from any detachment it has to be a very hard jerk pulling it they say they have it made so it will not inflate if you forget to detach and walk away

man do i love people who come into a thread just to hear themselves slap on there keyboard,.. why waste every one's time posting before you do your research man? it ain't hard dude,.. take 5 minutes and you would have known its not going to deploy from just stepping off your bike and forgetting its there. i mean do you really think the makers of this potentially life saving device are less smart then you and didn't think of that? well then Einstein, why on gods green earth are you wasting your time online when you should be out building a better mouse trap and making a fortune.

PS: No permit allows a rider to ride alone anyway so how the hell is that going to help me? I venture to guess a huge percentage of riders get a few illegal miles under the belt before taking the M test.

Do some research yourself. Permits for motorcycles allow you to ride alone. Or don't. I really don't care if you get pulled over and get a ticket.

Am I not allowed to kid around here?

Wow, you are a *******, "dude".

I agree that the posting in this thread is a bit harsh, but I will continue to post because I would Like to see a thread about new motorcycle safety technology take off. I think the companies working on a new level potentially life saving gear is great and want to receive and share as much information on the topic as possible... preferably in a civil manner but beggars can't be choosers

Its got nothing to do with being harsh people, its got to do with getting off your lazy ***** and reading what others have already posted about in this thread your posting in. I mean duh, is that rocket science? I think not. And if it was just a joke vroom then try and be a little more original since others have already made the exact same joke before you.

Do some research myself eh vroom? Well unlike you i have...
A quote straight from the NV DMV website for you:

"If you obtain an instruction permit, you may ride a motorcycle only under the direct visual supervision of a licensed motorcycle operator who is on a motorcycle, is at least 21 years old and has held a motorcycle license for at least one year. You may ride in daylight hours only. You may not carry passengers or drive on freeways or other high-speed roads."

Now if anyone here wants to talk about motorcycle safety equipment (like i obviously do having started this thread) then factual right and wrong is a good place to start. Too bad folks like vroom can't stick to that and only clog up this thread with repetitive jokes and false information. But yes im the one who needs a muzzle slapped on me [down]

FYI if you get one of these get 1 to 2 sizes bigger then you normally wear, or even the chest measurements on the site work out to. I got a large and its really small on on 6'ft 170 lb frame, returning it for a 2XL, lol
sounds silly but that's what the guy wears i been emailing who is about my same build.

DIYer, don't try to act all hard by bashing other peoples responses to your questions about safety gear. lol. It's less about people not being able to "take your heat," and more about them not wanting to deal with your ignorance while learning about the topic. Using intelligent caustic phrases like "duh" does not help your argument that you're not being harsh. It leaves me pretty convinced that you are sufficiently uneducated in the topic, which is fine in itself. However, it gets annoying for people when you are not understanding that there are others in the same situation as you. Oh, and I hate to say this because of the way my ego-puffing colleagues use this, but it is directly related to one of your attempted jabs at fellow forum member: I am a rocket scientist. Now, this has nothing to do with my work, but my analysis of this thread is that you are simply unclear of the purpose of an online forum. This is a forgivable mistake, and can easily be cured with a little of your beloved research. Hope you have a splendid day!

soooo decided to drag this back any update on the jacket?... My interest re peaked now that the Dainese D-Air system has been released in a beta, and is slated for commercial sale at the end of the year. It also helps that Valentino Rossi wears it.
