I had a scrap piece of plexyglass laying around the office so figured I would make a simple airbox delete kit. I should have the final photos tomorrow...

I'm using (3) 1/4-20 rods to mount it. (one above the throttle body and two in place of the breather tubes.)

Brother works at a plexi shop. They make Point of Purchase displays. Could easily get him to laser these, just wondering the pros/cons of doing the delete. I have the transparent cover so it would look awesome to see the filter. I have an 09, would the computer be able to handle the change in air/fuel on its own? I've heard people complain of volume increase too, but I got a Hawk, will I notice?
Thanks guys,
VT2MA

I dont even have a translucid but I would image at full throttle this has to flow better than just thru the snorkel. Noise is not a issue for me as long as its not at cruising speeds. My gixxer sounded like a formula one above 11k rpms' [smirk]

I wanted a kick ash airbox cover but heard that color is not very transparent. Anyone here with one?

Cool! Looks good! ANy mounting pics? Will definelty sound lounder. I would re-map and do T.P.S reset for sure. You should get a clear jacket to match ;)

That is not completely true. Using that piece of plexi, you have gotten rid of the nipple that helps to smoothly channel the air flow. Without that nipple, the air won't be as streamlined.

I have a '03 no venturi (i think thats what is on top of the velocity stack)

Wiznut,
Is that a cad file of a buell? If so where did you get it and please send me a PM if I can get a copy!

Is plexyglass exposed to heat and vibaration suspectible to cracking around the mounting bolts?
