Well after riding this kermit the frog green Yamaha scooter 49cc bike ive had for the last 5 years. One of the salesman at my work (im a Technician at a porsche dealership) He offered to sell me his 04 buell XB12s. I jumped on the deal, rode it to get my permit the next day and just been putting miles on it ever since. I forgot i even have a car now!

Since owning it ive added a K&N, played around with ECMspy, installed a Radar, breather mod and just been browsing these forums for the next Mod/ winter project im going to do. got my M licenses and took it up to Milwaukee for the HD 110th anniversary with my uncle. it was cool cause it did get some attention up there.

just last week I strapped on some bags I borrowed from a friend a rode it around lake michigan, camping everywhere i went. The bike was awesome and other than the needing a new battery and rear tire was getting really low it was a pleasure to ride. And then finishing off my trip stopping at the EBR factory .

Well im usually not a poster, But this site has been very helpful so far. So i thought id introduce myself. Im Brandon and this is my first bike which i couldn't been happier to own!

Welcome to the forums! Did you contemplate and other bikes? Are you glad you got a Buell? She will put a smile on your face every time you ride! Hold on to it and treat it well, and it will do the same in return.

Welcome! Buell & Porsche share a common background in that they both pushed air-cooled technology until quite recently. Several years ago I had a colleague with a Ruf CTR 911. He asked me to bring it back from a meeting 3 hours out of town one day. "Noooo problem!" I said. It had UNREAL acceleration and the howl from that wonderful air-cooled flat six mounted right behind the cockpit was awesome!

i was looking at bikes from old Cafe racer styles to a HD street bob, Ducatis and last year i even was about to buy ...couldnt be happier with the Buell. i wish this was the only bike that came into mind. And as much as i feel like this big air cooled V-twin is inefficient, i love it

and of course im fond of an old air cooled Porsche. in the last picture posted one of the employees at EBR has a mint 911 and i believe the color is amethyst which one of the coolest colors.

thanks for the welcome!

Hey Brandon welcome and great pics man. Do you live in Chicago? I see the hopleaf sign and have been there myself. I'm on the nw side of Chicago near 90/Harlem. Always down to ride if the weather is nice. Take care ride safe. -Skyeler

An easy assumption to make, but that motor's not as inefficient as you'd think. My wife's ZX6r goes through gas at about 1.3x the rate of my XB12...

I'm just referring to HP per CC. but again. I love it!

Sky56, I live in wheeling right now. So not far at all. Hopleaf is the only bar I know that serves Zombie Dust on tap, delicious... I'll send you a PM.

And BTW. Ruf CTR is a special car. I'd enjoy that drive too!

i figured this was a Rolling Stones thread,

"Im a man of wealth and taste,,..........
I've Been around a long long year
Stole many a mans soul and faith,
And I was round when Jesus Christ
had his moment of doubt and pain,
made damn sure Pilate
washed his hands and sealed his fate

Pleased to meet you!
Hope you guessed my name?
But what is puzzling you
is the nature of my game?

hmmm, sorry, my bad. :)

Welcome buddy....your camping pics remind me of my college days on a GS1100EX, and trips from the Detroit area to the Rockies. I still love the mountains, but can't find the time to load up camping gear on the Buell and do long trips. Enjoy while you can!
