did you clear coat over this after drawing? my wife is wanting something different on her ninja 250 and i was considering a white base and a magenta colored sharpie paint job. figured i would base and clear it, then sand it with 1500 grit, then do the drawings, then re-clear. anyone have any insight?

65pony I used a flat clear coat... soon im going to get a full up nice gloss coat though. The flat just doesnt have flash like i want. As if it didnt stick out enough already lol. Also.. Ive been hearing about people doing sharpie drawings on their bikes now.. and whatnot.. I dont recommend sharpies. Most clear coats are volatile and make sharpies run and sharpies dont give you that clear black color... its more of a purple tinted black.. I personally use paint markers. You can get them at walmart in the craft section in many different strokes from very fine to regular. Since theyre composed of actual paint you dont have to worry about the clear coat harming the work you just spent multiple days on.

Zeebuh thank you =)

No problem.
How do you like the full front fairing? I was considering that option. Also....Does the Corbin seat make the seat any lower? Im 5'9 and would like to stand flat footed when Im stopped on my bike. My select seat is to high. I only need and inch or 2 lower. Any input? anybody????

I have a stupid question, are you a tattoo artist or something similar? How do you come up with the ideas of what to draw and where to draw it? I really like the look of you bike, I just couldn't have it, it is a little too busy for me. But as I said it is a really cool look, and I really like it.

If I can find pink paint markers that are compatible with urethane grade paint then the wife's ninja shall have a new look

I used Sharpie, But i used a Non-Acetone Clear coat.

I Used a flat white and a gloss clear, i felt it popped better. after a shitload of wet-sanding, it finally gave me the finish i desired.

Zeebuh- I definitely like the full fairing. It does run hot during the summer when im stuck in traffic, but other than that it seems to be just fine. During the winter months like now its definitely nice lol... whenever Im at a light it allows some heat to build up around my legs haha. As for the Corbin seat. I dont know for sure. Mine was pretty standard... but when you send in your seat request they ask you your height and take comments.. So if you tell them that they will take that into consideration when making the seat.

Jasonxb9- No im not a tattoo artist lol, but I do appreciate doodling. At first it was really easy to come up with things to draw... Just go with the flow. The only hard part was the side fairings. I had to get some ideas from the wife lol.

TooFst- The tail light was nice.. but I dont recommend it. It has adhesive backing that doesnt hold well when its hot out. Also the lights werent too bright. I switch to a 6" License plate strip with dual brake and running light. Works like a champ... much more reliable and cheaper too.

Bolty- Thank you =)
