I have spent a few days here searching around, and was torn between going with a XB12R or an XB12X....completely different bikes, I know. Tired of YouTube videos, google searches and reading and just ready to ride. I have over 10 years of experience riding dirt bikes, and occasionally on one of my dad's Harleys. I am taking my Motorcycle Safety Class here in NC next week and should have my endorsement shortly thereafter.

I am 6'2" and 260lbs and dropping. I don't have a fat a**, just a large build with a larger than average belly. Not to make this sound like some personals ad, but just trying to get it all out there. I sat on an 08 XB12R the other day with stock pegs, and I seemed to fit on the bike ok, but could see where drop pegs might help me out. He sold the bike that evening before I could get home to get my truck/trailer to pick it up, so the search continued.

I just wanted to know if there are any other LARGER riders on this model? I was looking at perhaps some drop pegs for the bike if it became an issue, but didn't know if there might be some other things I can get for the bike to make a larger guy a little more comfortable.

I live in Asheville NC....right in the Blue Ridge Mountains, and the Parkway is right here just calling for me to ride it! There is an 06 XB12R with 3k miles locally for sale for a killer deal and I was thinking of just picking it up tomorrow and making it work for me.

Sorry for the long post here, just sort of an introduction of sorts, and to express my concerns of using this as a weekend bike on the twisties with my large frame. Proud to say I have lost 20lbs in the last 3 months, and still losing weight, so spare me the Jenny Craig jokes!!!! :p

Talked with the seller tonight and going to bring a trailer with me in the morning to (hopefully) pick it up. Will post pics here when I get her home....really excited to find a low mileage one that doesn't seem to have been beat around the block. Solid owner history and I did a "Carfax" on it to verify everything....it's in mint condition :)

Will turn into a regular here I'm sure of it...I know it has a Drummer exhaust and a couple other mods to it, but I don't think the ECU or anything like that has been touched....that Drummer sounds great, heard it on the 08 I looked at...wow

Feeling a little better after the replies. I knew one day I would own a Buell, besides my dad would never let me live it down otherwise. Neighbor upstairs has a 2011 R6 so I look forward to having an instant riding buddy as well.

6'2" 240, but build like a stud...lol joking. long rides can get a little cramped in the legs, but other than that its not too bad. Depending on how big the mono ab is it might get in the way of the tank. Previous owner of my 12r said he didnt like riding it because he'd be uncomfortable with his belly hitting the tank (tank? airbox cover :)).

6'1" 260lbs here and I ride an XB9R and I don't really have any issues with it.

I have been thinking about doing 1" drop pegs, because I took a 3 or so hour road trip and it definitely would have been nicer with them. But for normal riding I have no problem with the stock setup of the bike.

It has more than enough power to haul my fatass around, haha...

I a 6'6" 340 with normal frame big gut!! HAHAHA and I fit on my bolt fine just gotta modify it so it is a little better for us tall people!! Pirate adjustable pegs are the greatest things I have ever done!!

I hope you arent too big cause I'm 6' 280lbs and I ride an XB9S. Its plenty for me as a first bike. Pulls my fat ass anywhere I throw it. Just make sure you set the suspension to you. I got mine from a small 5'8 180lbs guy so it didn't ride well on my way home. The first thing I did when I got home was bust out the tools and reset the suspension to my fat ass and its smooth as butter now.

im 5ft 11 320lbs pulls my fat a$$ around great use to have a cbr 1000 love the usuable power of the buell
