Can a mostly stock 03 XB9S be easily lifted from the front end if you pull the throttle back fast?

Or maybe it's just me, I weigh about 180 pounds and I don't feel like my bike maybe generating enough power to lift the front end.

I know it sounds stupid but I'm mostly concerned about the loss of power.

It has a KN air filter.

ATGATT and with a warm engine and WARM tires, on a clean, straight, open road...
1) Cover the rear brake with your foot
2) Do NOT cover the front brake with your hand
3) Cover the clutch with 2 fingers (I use pinky and ring)
4) Go to 4K RPM, 2nd gear,
5) Check your surroundings, especially run-off and rear
6) WOT and when you get to 6K….
7) Squeeze the clutch slightly to slip to almost redline and immediatly release it quickly/hard.
8) Enjoy the view

* Don't PANIC! It takes a LOT to go all the way over. Slightly letting off the throttle will bring the front down, no need to chop it, or slam the rear brake.

Should lift easy in 1st gear as well, just run it up to 3-4k rpm, let off quickly and slam the throttle again, your suspension rebound should lift the bike easily just be careful, first gear is less forgiving.

Thanks guys for not being judgmental. I was about to ask the mods to delete the topic because I thought I was going to get flamed for asking something like this.

My main concern was that I was fearing that my Buell might not have enough power (I'll have to go to a dyno to test it), the wheeling was secondary. Thanks to you and another Buell owner I've met, I've become slightly less ignorant.

Thanks.

nah its all in good fun. sometimes its good to be a little bad. I think most of us have searched threads trying to find a safe and efficient way to do this.

Guys I've ridden every year, every model. The front comes up on both models but "easy" is not a way to describe the xb9 front end lift. Ride a xb12s after a xb9s... You'll see what I mean.
Xb9 makes good power above 4500, xb12 lifts the wheel at 3500...

My 9R lifts the front effortlessly in 1st and 2nd by whacking the throttle. It can be clutched up in 3rd. I feel that if I yank hard I can clutch it up in 4th, but haven't tried.

I don't like wheelies, but I do like to know how much is too much; how much I can give it and stay well in control.

I sometimes wonder if these wildly-conflicting experiences that get reported on wheelie threads have anything to do with the elevation above sea level that the various posters live at.

I'm at 1000m (~3300ft) ASL, & my 12Ss won't roll-on power wheelie, up to the balance point, without clutch, throttle-chop, tug, or any other tricks...

I'm at ~300ft asl (at least that's the number I use for flight training).

My modifications are as follows:
-Jardine exhaust can
-Brisk BR10ZS plugs
-Amsoil 20w-50 in engine/trans
-ECMDroid datalogging and MegaLogViewer's VE Analyzer for tuning
-I weigh ~170lbs, ± a shit

What's the point of riding a "Hooligan bike" and not acting like a Hooligan now and then??? The difference is... Do you do your stunts in rush hour traffic or do you do them on a quiet road/parking lot away from potential victims???

my 12Ss won't roll-on power wheelie
Just to clarify, mine doesn't 'roll-on' wheelie, I gotta whack it open while sitting up; it's more violent than most consider a roll-on or power-up wheelie to be. If I'm hunkered down on it, it will clutch-up in 1st, 2nd and 3rd.

I watched that youtube video a couple posts up, and I got distracted and wasted 13 minutes of my life watching a collection video of motorcycle accidents... only 2 btw where from wheelies

I should mention "easy" to me, means power wheelie, without any effort.
No xb9 I rode came up without playing on off throttle and or pulling up.
ALL Xb12 will lift a bit in 1st simply running the gear out WOT.
I'm at 200-300ft. I'm Near water in MD...
