as the season draws to an end for me i decided to go out for a ride on one of the last nice days ill have. going around a corner (a corner i have taken millions of times before)to fast and too wide i realized i had no more lean left in me, stood the bike up and hit the brakes as hard as i could. ran out of tarmac and hit a small curb, front wheel buckled and slid on concrete for about 10 yards. stupid me i wasnt wearing my jacket or gloves, i was wearing my helmet though. all in all i am ok, minor road rash and possible broken foot and toe. damage to the bike includes primary cover, left foot peg, shift peddle frame damage, broken glass on my mirror, and minor paint damage. i guess thius means no more riding the buell for the rest of this season. if anyone has a new primary cover they want to sell me let me know, i want to be back riding as soon as i am healed! funniest part about this whole thing was i had told my buddies that we should head back because i wasnt sure if there was enough gas in my 2 stroke KTM to make it any farther and i had no oil with me. after i got picked up i get a call from my buddy who was riding my KTM telling me that he was out of gas! hahhaha it was pretty hilarious

Always a good sing when you are laughing after the crash.

Glad all is well, time for some mods!

Hope your foot isn't busted! Sorry to hear about the slide. Might want to check your forks too. Glad you're ok for the most part though!

thanks guys, i go back to the doctor on wednesday to see what the exrays mean. ill post some pics of the bike soon.

I feel the pain, still looking at my bike in pieces in the garage, just need to get off my ass and get it together.

But I have an extra Primary Cover in near new condition, but would be asking close to full price. PM me if your interested.

It would cut down on wait time and like I said it is in new condition so no worries there. I could ship it as soon as I was payed unlike a Harley shop that would tell you it is on back order and not get it to you for a month or two.

Still has the plastic thingy, Mint.

thanks xtreme ill let you know if i need it, i might have found one already though. i am in chicago and i am sure that as you know being in the midwest and it being october our days are numbering us this year so i am not in a huge rush to get her back on the road this season. i have a ktm to ride if its really nice. it just sucks that i only got one season out of my strip down a rebuild before i have to do it all over again.

no problem, I am just not motivated to sell it since I have two bikes and I know how quick a primary can get damaged.

This is a little late but....Glad you're ok, the bike will fix and so will you. And now here's the thing. One of the first things I was told in race school a million years ago, NEVER stand the bike up and run off the track/road! When you're leaned over as far as the bike will go and you're going to fall, lean over some more! 99% of the time the tires will take it. A low side beats the impending crash everytime. Good luck on the rebuild. Wayne
