Had a second great summer on my XB but now its time to get ready for the snow. Had my insurance stopped on my bike yesterday. Starting to get some black ice here now at times so away she goes. Put 6000KM on it again this year with no issues at all.

Come on snow......

how long is your summer season??? 6000KM isnt very much I put about an equivalent to 19000KM on my bike this season...

Been in nc all week made my 10k in miles hoping for 15 next year.
The 1125r has been good to me all summer. Plan to clean it and put it in the basement when I get home. Need to get plugs and do a valve adjustment over the winter.

I don't know if completely stopping (cancelling?) your insurance is the best idea...bikes can still be damaged or stolen while in storage.

If you call your insurance company and let them know you are not riding it they should be able to modify your policy accordingly and drop your rate quite a bit during the period of inactivity.

This may be what Phazer meant, just wanted to chime in so people didn't cancel their policy and get screwed if their bike got stolen while being stored...

Gotta keep my insurance ready to go! Never know when you're gonna ge a 60 degree day in December and I'm not looking to miss them!

70 degrees down here in Texas... sorry fellow buellers but we will be riding for quite a bit longer

I have a fairly decent riding season from about mid April to October. But work and life takes some time as well. I was out west this summer for a month as well. I ride when I can but I'm not fanatical about it.

All I cancel is my road coverage. I still have my fire and theft on the bike for all winter. By doing it this way I don't "cancel" my policy I just modify it thus being able to save some money over the winter. All it takes is a 2 minute call to my insurance lady and I'm ready to ride.

in Ohio it hit 47* today. took my xb12Scg out for a small cruise. gonna be 50 tomorrow and possible snow towards the end of the week.
