it might be unburnt fuel leaking by the header
I'd think that if there was enough unburned fuel for it to be emerging at the header pipe, you'd have a flooded engine & it simply would not be running.

Well I have a lot to check up on and lots of good suggestions thanks to all of you. I will try to fit some of this troubleshooting in this week if possible but I do have a wedding this weekend out of town so that may slow me down. I will update the thread as I find things out. Thanks again.

this hole in the fuel line (along with a weak fuel pump) caused exact same symptoms. not saying you have a hole, im saying i think its starving for fuel.

Pull the pump man!
I rebuilt mine around 35k and I could not believe how nasty it looked! My bike never sat for a long period of time and has ways had 93 octagon and additives run through it. I also discover some frayed wires that I'm sure we're causing intermittent issues.
At least you'll have the piece of mind that the pump is all good if you do pull it. Rules out a variable.

Instead of pulling the fuel pump, You should test the fuel pump pressure under load.

You can use the same gauge and also do a compression test.

If that is indeed oil leaking from the cylinder so bad it's draining down the header pipe, you have a major cylinder sealing problem (piston rings) and the O2 sensor is wasted from the oil.

How would I test the fuel pump pressure under load?
The bike only has 5k miles on it, always had 93 octane ran through it. While it did mostly sit for the last year or so, the previous owner did mention that he rode it around the block several times during that period. I doubt the pump is bad, just needs to be cleaned out maybe.

you'll quickly realize what a pain in the ass it is to change the pump out and then realize that cleaning it did nothing (i mean the pump sits in solvent 100% of it's life.... what exactly are you going to clean?) and that the parts to replace the pump, fuel filter, pump housing o-rings and fuel pump pickup screen are under $100. besides it's well known that the fuel pump wires are known to chaffe (sp?) and short out so why not pull the pump anyways and do it?

there are three parts to change when you buy a Buell in my eyes that are a must.... fuel pump, o2 sensor, and spark plugs.

here's the pump assembly from my 06 Uly with 10,000 miles on it last year. it to sat but was ridden at times to keep it going. funny thing is my bike ran good. i did a 300 mile ride the weekend before this (the very day after i bought the bike). the only reason i changed the pump was cause i just bought it and it's one of my 3 things i replace. pieces of that pickup screen were way up in the pump, i really don't know how the bike ran.

I haven't been able to find time yet to pull the pump but did some looking around tonight to check for obvious issues since I did ride it to work today. I noticed oil on my swingarm tonight. Traced it to where the oil seems to be coming from. In this pic (https://www.dropbox.com/s/n0laydileswylhh/IMG_20150413_205019.jpg?dl=0) you can see the hose up by the rear spring that has a drop of oil hanging on it and the wet pattern around it. This hose seems to go up to the intake. Anybody no what it is or if this means anything for me.

On a side note: I did receive my ecm cable and was able to fetch the eeprom and get the software activated. It connected and it did not have any active or saved codes. Did the fuel pump test as well as most of the others and they all seemed to act fine. I did pull and save my eeprom. Could someone take a look and let me know if it looks alright, you can download it here (https://www.dropbox.com/s/6x57bqb905zno4y/fetched_BUEZD_20150410-2259.xpr?dl=0). Thanks.
