front wave rotor from braking.

lokatwhaticando: I gotta question for you (and for anyone who has this rear rotor). I just mounted mine up (pix later), and mounted it the way (direction of rotation) that you did. I did so because the markings are on the side facing out. Mine came without any documentation, so I called Braking to ask. But, I couldn't get a convincing answer from them as to which way is correct. Did you mount yours that way because it said so, or because the markings were on this side? Thanks for any info!

Mine never said anything as to the way it should be mounted. But from I've learned over the years from people is name always out. I'm sure someone will have something diffrent to say about that. I've seen it done both ways on buells and never heard anything bad about it.

Hmm... the longer I've had my bike and the harder I ride it, the more noticable it becomes that my front rotor is warped. I'm eventually going to have to look into another one.

Is that waved rotor the only aftermarket one available? To be honest I like the way the stock rotor looks more than this one.

Agree with upthemaiden, the harder I ride mine the lesa I feel the brake system is enough, does rotor provide better braking or just looks

I have been contemplating the EBR finned rotor
Not as sexy as the braking rotor but if it stops better I don't really care, I still worry about it warping like the stock one so I have also been thinking about the 6mm rotor in hopes that I could gain a little in mechanical advantage and maybe getting a new master cylinder set up as well.
The ZTL2 has crossed my mind but it's so damn chunky and ugly, it seems to have issues with trapped brake dust binding the pistons as well, at least more than the standard ZTL and other calipers. It needs more frequent rebuilds and pads that produce less dust reducing your options when picking out some high friction pads. (granted most are ceramic producing less dust)

I thought the stock already was 6mm? At $160 the EBR finned rotor is nearly half the price of the braking rotor.

All perimeter rotors for the Buells have the same specifications. The only differences come into play with the ZTL2 where you need the specific ZTL2 Master Cylinder and the proper brake line to fit, if you changing to the ZTL2 Caliper.

What about going the other direction from the ZTL2 to the ZTL1?

The Braking rotors have went up in price since this thread was started. The perimiter rotor is one of the lightest I have found without going to a MMC rotor.
