For only being 5'7" lets just say I've learned to tiptoe my XB12 at stop lights, but would feel more stable if I can flat foot haha. Since I am in the process of tearing my bike down I was wondering if anyone with an SCG Suspension would like to trade for mine? :D

Do you happen to know how much smaller the scg front forks are from the xbss long? if they are smaller. i know the rear shock is about an inch shorter from what i have been told.

ali...what seat do you currently have on your bike? there are several seat heights for the S models...look at the seat pan for the white dot next to the part number, that's what you have...M0090.1AJ, is the tallest/widest of 'em all, M0090.1AD, the standard height, and M0076.1AD the low seat, the latter two look the same just height differences and finish textures...may wanna try a lower seat and go from there since it's pretty cheap investment besides trading suspensions. the low suspension is a high demand system, it may atake a while to find someone to swap with, good luck.
brock...think the long affects the swing arm and subframe (seat rails) length only, I'm sure someone will chime in and set me straight on that:p

good catch there sparky...didn't see that, anyway someone could use the seat info for reference, it's all good:D

I have an '03 XB9SL that I have somewhat torn apart right now (changing out the swing arm). I wouldn't mind trading for reg suspension but I dont really feel like tearing the front of the bike down. Although I am 6'2" and the low suspension doesn't really suit me ( I don't really mind it though, turns like crazy). Where do you live?

Hey Nick I live in Lincoln, Ne

Do you have to completely remove the front end (stem?) or can you just slide the fork tubes out while leaving the rest intact. Is the headlight assembly attached to the tubes? I am trying to guage the difficulty level. Also time is of the essense as I am selling my house and need to get my bike back together by the closing date of Feb 28th!

slide the tubes out after front tire removal, don't forget to also remove the sidestand, you'll need that also to go with the swap

the rest will stay in place

Hopefully someone can fill in if i'm wrong...

But depending on the years we should just be able to swap out fork tubes. If not then the upper and lower triple trees would have to be swapped also.

So items for the swap would be:
-Front Forks
-Depending on years upper and lower triple trees
-Rear Shock
-Kick Stand

Nick my bike is almost apart, all I have left is to remove the rear spring and front forks. Also if you do want to do this PM your number or email address and I can send you photos of everything.

Hey thats my bike and ArmyMP09's old bike! :D [up]

You need to trade lower triples also! Upper triples are all the same size you dont have to trade those.

Sorry Ali, I'm goin to pass for now. Maybe sometime down the road if your still lookin!

Does anyone know what it would cost to ship all of the parts( fork tubes shock and kick stand)? I have an '03 low and I'm 6'2''. Been thinking about swapping suspensions but don't want to spend an arm and a leg. I'm in MD 21921. Would prefer to do a local swap but if shipping was cheap enough I might go that route.

by far the cheapest route with shipping is USPS Parcel Post, find a good box, pack it, weigh it, enter box dimensions and you can get a fairly close rate online, I'd take it to the post office so you have an exact rate, good luck

neilrl79 I'll do a price quote tomorrow with your zip code, if you do want to do this I will cover the cost of shipping.

How many miles are on you bike Ali? Mine is around 13,000. Forgot o mention I have a lightning but I don't think that matters. I'm been going back and forth about doing it for a while.

34,000 Miles but the front forks have be rebuilt, still have the sticker on one of the forks. Once I get home I can snap a photo of the sticker.
