Its prob jus me complaining but with my weight forward ridding that bike i cant help complain the the palms of my hands hurt, like i need a taller rear more handle bar

more miles should condition your hands and everything else. try finding a pad or wrap for your hand. Course if you just drone down a highway thats what you get, if you ride on a road that requires some work, I doubt it will be so bad. Or just spend money and have a new problem.

Also how long have you been riding? I know when I had just learned to ride everytime I would get remotely near traffic I would get nervous and would lock my hands like vice grips so they would cramp up... didn't really notice it until I got used to riding in traffic then no pain

For proper form you should have minimal weight on your hands. Try focusing on not putting weight on your hands. Either slide forward (nut hug) the seat to sit more upright or work on strenghting your core muscles (abs and back). I have found I can ride much longer that way if I make a concerted effort to keep the weight off. At first it is tough until you build up your core muscles.

You could always throw some risers on to bring the bars up and back.

I always liked buells less aggressive ride style on my XB. Compared to a jap bike its great, my wrists would hurt and go numb, I also changed to a different grip and it helped on vibration and fatigue. I think buell used a couple different seats and they would change your position a bit im not sure on the bolts though, that may be something to look at also. On my XB12 I have very little weight on my hands and wrists, its actually more comfy than my cruiser was.

Yep, it's all in how you use your abs to hold yourself up. It takes awhile but you'll learn how to do it if you actually try riding the right way.

Yep....these guys hit it right. Focus on using your abs to keep you up. I also had a lot of pain and numbness when I first started riding. It also helped me to move my hands down a bit and hold the bar around my knuckles instead of resting on the palms of my hands.

My fingers hurt....

Excuse me, what did you say?

My fingers hurt...

Well, now your back is gonna hurt because you just pulled 2 hours garden duty. Anyboby else's fingers hurt? I didn't think so....

YES! i'm glad i'm not the only one who thought about the old lady at the nursing home in happy gilmore! ^^^^

The three things I did were 1. got the better grips 2, use those gel heal inserts inside my gloves and 3 got a Vista Cruise manual cruise control. The cruise control is the best $25 I've spent hands down. If my hand gets tired or cramped I set the throttle, flick it on and ride left handed as long as I need to.

Alphatango, where do I find one? I am going for some long rides this year and would come in handy. Thanks.

i think my hands hurt for different reasons. they go numb on the bike for sure unless i give them a break but they go numb at other times too. like sometimes when im eating and just holding a fork. i probably have a nerve problem......but i want to get a simple cruize control to help me rest my right hand too.

Ordered the Vista Cruise from Amazon.com I believe. They are not made for Buells so just get a Yamaha or Honda one. A little modification had to be done but not much. Here's mine on my bike.

As you can see in the top picture there's a lip and the handle bar. I had to bevel grind the cruise control to fit flush against the throttle housing. Then I drilled and hole and put a set screw into the housing. You could always grind down the metal lip on the handle bar if your have a nice fast die grinder as it may be a lot quicker that way. I would shave a little at a time and test fit it again and again. If you take too much off it may not clamp on the bar.

I have the same problem. I can't cut the grass at one time because my hands are so sensitive to vibration. I haven't put a throttle lock on my buell yet, but they've been lifesavers on my other two bikes. Thanks for showing your vista mod.

Looks like maybe I CAN have wind protectors, bar end mirrors, and a throttle lock [up]

tank grips can help a lot too they let you use your core muscles as well as your legs. I still haven't used them myself but I have friends on other sport bikes that swear by them.

guys above are right... correct riding style and you will not have weight on your hands. no numbness or soreness.
