Great thread !! I have a cleaning service and just like riding your Buell there are things that you must check before riding. I.E. oil, tire pres,brakes and so on.So last Sun I send a crew 2.5 hrs away to do a job and 15 min into it my crew leader calls me and says the motor is knocking real bad.My first ? is did you check the oil before you started? big surprise he said no [mad].That motor only had about 2500 hours on it still new.Also I have trained all my employees before you turn a key check oil.Same guy over filled oil one time in different machine,So him and I have had oil checking 101 before.So on Fri the 13th wrote a check for $2500.00 for new motor fired a crew leader and now my stuck cleaning til I get someone trained!!Ok I'm done Thank you

I hate when some one driving a car decides hey I'm gonna go around this truck driver when I have to get off at the next exit. I really hate when a car is coming up an on ramp and decides to go the exact same speed I'm going and then flip me the bird when I didn't let your dumb ass merge. It's not my job to move for you idiot you're the one trying to be where I'm already at. Also moving a 72 foot long 80000lb vehicle from one lane to the other takes a lot of room and time and slowing down takes even longer and forget about speeding up the takes years. So next time you what to merge on to a highway put the pedal on the right to the floor and go faster then me or slow down and get behind me or you might just meet the guardrail that's at the end of the on ramp.

The Ford rant got me remembering my dislike of FMC from years ago. The dealer wouldn't help me with a warranty issue, so I had to call a representiative myself and he informed me that it was normal to use a quart of oil every 1500 miles.I told him where to go, that I'd never buy another Ford product and I haven't and that was 30 years ago.

Got one as of this morning - building a road bike and picked up a cf frameset on fleabay. Got a steal on it AND dude listed it as free shipping cause I'm sure he thought he was going to make some $ on the sale. Turns around and says he didn't realize shipping was going to be so expensive ($60 shipping on a $325 frameset).

Messages me back to say he made a mistake/ ups shipping calculator was off/ he doesn't want to lose that much money on the sale. Told him it's an integrity issue and he, as the seller, made a mistake so if he's got to eat his mistake, that's the risk of listing no reserve on ebay. He writes back to say it isn't an integrity issue and wants to make more money on the sale without 'lining UPS pockets'. assclown

Someone in S Cal go paint his house pink for me in the middle of the night. Cost him more than $60 to get that corrected.

eBay has rules and sounds like he's breaking them. Also if you paid via PayPal go after him that way, they'll straighten out his ass in a hurry if you're persistent. Make sure you save those messages from him!

the ford rant: that oil passage problem is pretty common. they're too small on the 3 valve head@ least they got rid of it! Now My rant....


I take issue with the idea of getting one bad product from a particular brand or manufacturer and swear against it forever. Not only that but spreading trash upon them for eternity. It is my opinion that every manufacturer in the motor vehicle industry has made huge mistakes in engineering that have cost its customers thousands. If one were to swear off fords bcuz of the 6.0L deisel and its many problems or the 5.4L 3v soch V8 bcuz of its shity oil passage design than why not swear off HD/Buell for its overpriced parts and it bikes that rattle them selves to bits and constintly have quirky crap wrong with them. Or GM for building a"highly sophisticated" V-8 that cuts cylinders to save fuel but poors oil down them through the valve train @ a rate of a quart or better per 3000 miles. I've seen flawed design in Mechanics and Assembly of strucural and non-structural components in both ease of a repair and crash safety, in every car i work on. One thing remains the same all of them have their strong suites and there weak points. I dont think its right to blindly support one brand or another without seeing the attributes of the others and the flaws of ur own preference.

Ya actually they wouldnt do the repairs or warranty them because the sludge would more than likely cause the same problem again. I could do a cam phazer repair through someone else for about $900. But with the timing being an issue and just everything in general, I practically scrapped this truck altogether and bought my GMC. Didn't want to jack with it, since a lot of its reliability went out the windows.

Doesn't matter of it was a Shelby, or fully loaded expedition, truck, whatever. If someone handed me one and it was completely free, didn't cost me anything, I would trailer it to the nearest dealership with 0 miles. Trade for something that doesnyt say ford on it. and deal with a monthly payment.

And shoot man, bought the truck for 22,000. Blue book (last time I checked) in good shape was 12. Now without an engine, sell it to someone for like 5000, maybe, that might even be pushing it. So then lets say I did the swap on my own, for about 4000. My 22 (since it was paid off) plus 4000. 26000. Sell for 12 (have to get lucky even) the difference there is just so outrageous. And had this not happened I would still probably be driving the truck. If ford is going to cost me a lot of heartache and a lot of money and everything else, having only a motorcycle as my primary transportation in the rain and sub 30 degree weather. Shit bra. When I'm taking it in the ass that bad, of course ill cast them out. Damn right. My dad did too. Had an explorer he bough brand new, only a year and half old, this happened, sold it and bought Chevrolet.

Just pulled my 1125CR out of the shop after having the suspension redone and a rebuilt stator from Rick's in CA installed. So this morning I buttoned it up and made sure everything was tight....EXCEPT for the oil lines from the cooler!! So riding around before I went to work to break in my new rear tire and start feeling my left foot slipping off the peg. Didnt think to much, thought my boot was losing grip or something. Well that something is oil all over it and my bike and into the tire. SOB what a pisser. I guess I now have a reason to change the oil early and wash it.

Yeah I have seen plenty of bad drivers from my seat in a big rig. I've watched more than a few people come down the ramp an drive on the shoulder waiting for me to let them in. I even saw one guy merge over into my tandems an get his mirror knocked off.

For those who haven't driven a truck, if we don't move over to let you in, there is a reason. Usually because there is someone on our left, who won't be there by the time you get behind me and pass.

Paypal can't make him send it to him all they can do is refund the money. I sell on Ebay and hate a lot of things about it. I recently ate money when the stupid UPS calculator misquoted shipping. I usually have a set rate I know I can do and not get stung. Luckily it wasn't a ton of money.

They've slipped big time recently because the new models have a lot of integrated GPS/cruise/stereo/hvac blah blah blah that have been a nightmare. They went from 10th to 20th according to Consumer Reports out of 28 manufacturers.
