when stopping from 60 it vibrates with the engine till about 20 miles per hour then stops like a switch is turned off. it is not brakes. it wont do it with the engine off.the front motor mount is not broken or worn. cant speak for the rest though. is this normal for xb's as ive never ridden another? it a 2005 xb12s.

I would check all the motor mounts. Maybe a large mouse climed up your exhaust and is clinging to one of your pistons for dear life in turn one of your pistons is heavier then the other thus creating a vibration.

For sure check the front engine mount, they are known to fail, in turn it would add to the vibrations you would normally feel.

im clutch in and slowing on front brake only. front motor mount visually is fine. ill be taking it all apart for powdercoat here in a week. i havent rode it in a while just wondering. its not the muffler mount as i had the muffler apart for gutting and put it on myself and it did it before and after.

the wierd part is it just stops around 20. and its a good shake. it feels just like a warped rotor.

It sounds like the bearings in the head to me, I don't know what their actual name is, but if you've got the clutch pulled in and you say it only happens from 60-20, the engine really has no idea how fast you're going.

Check your front muffler clamp. Mine broke and added some extra vibration. Put on another clamp and the vibration went away, other than the normal vibration of the v-twin rolling over.

Mine's an '06 and acts the exact same if I do as you described above. So I let the engine do my braking until I'm below 15 or so, and it acts fine. Curious to see if there is an underlying problem.

I always assumed it because of doing 60 and disengaging the clutch - the motor just gave off vibrations at those higher RPMs until it "coasts" down to idle RPMs. Especially since it's a stressed Frame member.
