need new tires and thinking this is what i am putting on my lightning. anyone else running them on their bikes?

I'm still running Diablos, but was looking at the Angels too for the next change. Everything I've read on them has been good so far. Depending on price it'll be Angels or Michelin Power Pilots.

I "HAD" them on my Uly, Didn't like the front tire at all, at speed when new, I would get a pretty good headshake, after a couple k miles it seemed to go away, but I think I was just used to it and muscle memory took over and automatically tensed up thru it, I can not in good faith recommend Angels, too many other good tires out there

If your looking for long distance tires I went with the mich Road Pilot2s.
Only had them 2 weeks now but they did ok with a track day.
They have a taller profile than the diablos but that should mean longer life, I believe the Angels are similar.
So basically turn in is a little quicker, and takes slightly more to stand the bike upright.
But I only noticed that the 1st day or 2.

I've got Angels and I LOVE them. Great lateral grip, great wear, good in wet...no complaints. MUCH better than the Scorpion Syncs that came on it

groovy...they are getting put on tommorrow and i will report back after they are on. right now there are diablo's on, no complaints with them, but it is time to replace them. i am very curious!

well i didnt get a long ride in with them on tonight, just a ride home.
i dont know if it was the difference in tire, or if it was just because it was a new tireand that could have been the difference...maybe both. i am going to withhold further comment until i get a few more miles on them.

I have em on my lightning and love them. I have over 1000 kms on the rear and its just starting to wear the initial pic grooves off. they warm up fast and are very stable .

Myron, one tip, make sure the release junk they put on the tire is worn off before you get on it too hard...made that mistake, and it was not fun [mad]

thanks for the tip...i will wait until i have a few hundred miles on them before i get too wild....i have to get used to how it feels now...totally different.

Had them on my lightning too and thought they were great. No complaints on traction or anything like that. I had about 3-4k miles on mine and they looked like they had another 4k easy.

The Angels grip the curves well but I got maybe 4k miles out of mine. I could tell a difference in the tread after a few hundred miles. WTF?? I just got Michelin Pilot Road 2 put on. I hear they last much longer.

i am not after maximum mileage..or at least it isnt on the higher end of the list of things that are important to me. dont get me wrong, if they last a long time, i wont bitch. i am just saying that it isnt the highest on my priority list.

I'm about to put a set on and was wondering what everyone is paying? It's going to be about $330 mounted I bring in the wheels and thats at the stealer but prices are about the same as everyone else, to me anyways! So good deal or bad? -Arthur-

Had one on the rear and it lasted 5K... Since I mostly commute on it these days the sides looked like new but the center was worn to the cords.

@ art....i dont typically shop for the best price. a shop where i trust the guys working on my bike that is there for me when i need them, rates a little higher on my priority list than getting the absolute lowest price on a tire. but that is just me....330 seems to a fair price.

how did you guys get that kind of mileage out of the angels? i got like 2200miles out of the rear on my xb12s. the tire felt great until i hit around 1500 miles then i did not like the way if felt going in and out of the corners. it felt like there was a transfer in compound between the sides and center. i did end up taking them off after a total of about 3000 miles. the 3k was on the front(witched looked just fine and not even worn) and the back was replaced once prior to taking them off (was on a ride and started showing cords before i made it home)

i finally got out to ride today.... the first thing i did, was head to the air pump to check tire pressure. it felt squirrely, so i figured i would start from the beginning. and the front had 40 lbs, the rear had 38....entirely too much. i dropped the pressure down to where it should be, and the squirreliness was gone, they handled GREAT from there on out.
one other big thing i noticed today...my mileage has been putting out consistantly 46-48 mpg. today is the first day that i figured the mileage with the new tires....and my mileage jumped to 54-56 mpg. :D
