There are a few new Buellers on now days, so I figured I'd throw out another reminder. Wear All THE GEAR ALL THE TIME. If you're going to the store, wear all your gear. If you're riding to the gym, wear all your gear. There isn't a time when it's ok to not gear up.

Most people stop at a jacket, gloves and helmet, but that's not all the gear. Leg and foot protection is VERY important!

When you buy the bike, you should buy gear BEFORE you buy upgrade parts for the bike.

I always say, "If you can't afford the gear, you can't afford to ride". I understand that gear is expensive, as are upgrade parts and insurance and payments and blah blah blah.

There are 2 types of riders, those that have been down, and those that are going down.

looking for a good deal on pants, anyone have any ideas? I like the Buell pants @grharley, but I was hoping for something a little cheaper? how about foot protection? what do most wear for foot protection?
thank you all in advance [confused]

Look at www.bikebandit.com You can find it all there. I would def compare prices before you buy.

newenough.com has great prices and great customer service.

Oh, and it's ATGATT (All The Gear All The Time). And, dave makes a great point! Cheers.

So true.... I have seen my share of mangled friends feet. Plus found out at an early(er) age that regular shoes dont do squat for protection when they hit the pavement at speed. Now its boots all the time.

+1 on newenough.com, I have been able to to find great deals on my 1pc and 2pc suits.

so true dave... man I got side swiped just a couple of weeks ago in the middle of traffic on Hwy 101 south. I went down with all my gear on and I managed to only get a badly sprained foot. so yeah wear all of the gear all the time I know if I hadn't I'd be far off worse.

Good call kidder. I fixed it :D

Bolt, check out frank thomas pants. link

As far as boots go, anything with the slider on the baby toes is good. I have Alpinestar SMX Plus boots and they're great! Sidi's will be my next boot.

hey guys, thanks a lot i found a lot of good stuff on all those sites (even placed some orders too :D ) also wanted to share 2 other sites i stumbled on that have about the same stuff & comparable pricing too just in case anyone else might be interested.
thx again

Dave,you're talking my kinda talk-
I feel like an old man sometimes ,lecturing people about the gear thing.[up][up]
Gear has saved my life&my skin a few times over the years.
Thanks ,guys for all the links-I love my sidi boots!rain or shine...

yeah, I know what Dave is referring to about all the gear all the time. back when I had my first Harley I had a run-in with a dog one night. I chose not to wear my helmet since I was only going about 5 mi. BAD DECISION!! [down] dog came out from behind bushes and I went into wet grass to avoid hitting him. back end of the bike came around and slapped my head down on one of those boulders that people put out in their yards for decoration. 2 days in the hospital, a severe concussion and countless cat-scans later; luckily I'm ok (well, as good as I was before I hit my head)

I'm kinda a gear Nazi also:D

right now I ride w/ alot of icon stuff

I said I was a gear Nazi;)

Dress for the crash not the ride[up]

Also the A* boots are outstanding I didn't know if I would like them at first

I got most of my stuff from sportbiketrackgear.com

You have to call to get the best deals I saved lots on the icon stuff boots and gloves were marked down also

Not that it applies right now, but: too hot for leather, too hot to ride.

I've got Puma Desmo boots, and I polish them every Friday. I wear them to work when I ride. I don't spend the whole day in them, but I don't feel like a fool walking through the door.

Cycle Gear has 1-piece suit for $400 right now.

RichP99, that stuff looks great! Santa hooked you up [up] Santa was pretty good to me too & for some reason I'm still gettin stuff. I'm not complaining! [up][up] can't wait till the weather gets better. I did hear that the sun might come out for a little tomorrow and it's gonna be mid to upper 30's so I'm gonna try & get out & ride for a couple hrs.

yeah I was really good this year ;)

I thought I had some good stuff before but the new A* gloves are a big step up from the Icon gloves and the Knox back protector is something everyone needs for track time. <---- hopefully this year I wil see the track

Two big thumbs up on wearing riding gear![up][up] I have been down twice, once wearing gear and once with no gear. The gear definitely makes a difference. I live in Florida, a helmet optional state. A lot of my buddies that ride cruisers don't wear a helmet. Well, a helmet saved my life about three years ago when a car t-boned my Night Train. I was thrown off the bike, hit the back of my head and slid for about 150 feet. The impact put a two inch crack in the rear base of the helmet. If not for a helmet, my noggin into about a million pieces. Of course, I also say that motorcycling is Darwinism at it's finest, you either evolve or become extinct.

I have some gear for sale. . .
looks kinda like this:

I'm askin for 200 plus shipping. It's perfect summer wear.

I lost the front end at about 60mph on a 125GP bike once. Slid for about 100 feet, tumbled a couple of times in the gravel trap and walked away. Crashed my BOTT EX500 at about the same spped, walked away. Got tossed off a racing sidecar at about 80mph, landed in the grass, slid forever, walked away. I NEVER ride without my one piece Dainese. As far as a helmet goes, I've had no less than 4 helmets save my life. [up] Dave, ATGATT!!! Wayne
