Cool, Brett, thanks. I checked my calendar and I think I'll plan to attend - could always use some extra tips and attention.

I'm trying to work it out with my schedule. I know my buddy Seth is going with his R1.
Looks like you just need standard street gear. Boots that cover the ankle, jacket, gloves, helmet.

Sounds like ZARS. I'll be at dctc with my 9R on Saturday for an advanced riding school.

This is exactly the sort of thing I need. Their pitch about no cars, sand, speeding tickets is really addressing all of my gripes. Now to figure out where I can scrounge up some riding pants..

ZARS will let you on track in jeans for the first couple levels, though they still (highly) recommend riding pants. Most people show up in riding pants, though there's always a few pairs of jeans in the crowd.

Check Bob's Cycle Supply on 36 and Rice for overpants. They've got the best selection in the metro, and don't gouge you on price.

Also, DCTC is a wonderful course for riding schools. It's nearly all curves, with only two real straightaways. You'll spend more time learning to turn than anything else. Since cornering is by product of a multitude of individual skills, a proper foundation of cornering will keep you upright for the long haul.

2 questions:
1) Can I borrow someone's bike to try out the expert cornering instruction and practice?
2) Anybody know who the cute redhead in the 6th picture down on the home page? Yowza. Ok, not like she's super gorgeous, but I'm a sucker for redheads. And pig tails. And bare midriffs. And girl bikers.

Bobs will also match price on internet stores like Revzilla, or come damn close. There's also a Bobs on hwy 8 in chisago
