i am rather sure by now we have all seen these: http://www.whaccessories.com/Lowering-Kits-Buell.htm and probably even stumbles across the right ups on this forum about them, noting that they give a "spongey" and undoubtedly unwanted feel and performance.

my stupid question of the day is: what happens when you put this lowering cup on a SL shock, but with an R (blue) spring? are the springs the same length and rate? if not, how would this spring swap and lowering cup combo act with a SL shock?

i am sure there have been write ups for this before, but honestly, i been at it for about 3 weeks and cant seem to find one with this specific info...

the reason why i ask is bc i LOVE my Bolt and will NEVER get rid of it...i will store it away for collectors' value before i sell it...i digress, but the fact is i stand 5'7", i am embarrassingly low in the saddle zone, and i still have around 1-2" of lowering needed to stand flat footed on both sides at a stop light. it just feels safer to me, and i feel much more stable when taking off from a light when FULLY upright. this is strictly a question for researching my options on how to get that tid bit lower without compromising comfort or performance...

It would only change the spring rate on the low shock, nothing more. It would not change the ride height. Why not just install the low suspension? It makes for an amazingly low and great handling xb-r!

already have the low suspension on the back, ordering the forks around the first of next month, but this was just one of those "i aint gonna spend the money if i can just ask" kind of head scratchers lol i dont know why the thought popped into my head really, mainly bc im not a suspension guru by no means i reckon...and i thought it cheaper to ask & look silly than go broke and feel stupid lol
