So I am now part of the click of riders that have been down.

I will get into the whole of the story later, but here are the gory details

Jan 28 2009 - Low speed BS wreck (>35mph) w/ my '09 XB12Ss and some lady who had no brake lights / reason to slam on her brakes
Jan 28 2009 - Airlift to a local hospital
Jan 29-Feb 06 - ICU and Surgery
Feb 06-10 - 5th floor hell recovering from surgery
Feb 10th - FINALLY RELEASED and getting on the internets for the first time since Jan 28th

In short, lots of strong ICU drugs and unconscious time, lots of visits from friends and family, and 8 less inches of small/large intestines including monthly vitamin b-12 shots.

Glad to have you back safe and alive. Far as the intestines go atleast you won't quite be as full of s*it as usual lol. Seriously tho great to have ya back, iz the bike salvageable?

Sweet Jebus what an ordeal. I know we butted heads in the past, but I was praying for you, glad your ok.

Awesome to have you back bro. :D[up] There's few enough of us as there is. Take Care & Heal up.

Glad to have you back Kajer. It could have been much worse. I believe everyone here was praying for you.

I had all my gear except my normal riding boots, because I had my new red wing boots for work. I came out of the trauma with no road rash or anything besides all my internal injuries.

My jacket was just a alpinestars mesh jacket wit padding... fared very well until the paramedics cut it off of me.

Yea, it will take a while, but when I am healed up and ready, I'll be riding again.

Glad to have you back. I can share mine as well.

Dec. 27th was riding on the 405 fwy here in CA when a van in the carpool/diamond lane rode over a piece of debris, and by doing so, kicked it up at me, striking me in the leg, breaking my leg on impact than fled the scene (total douche bag).

I managed to stablize the bike at over 85 mph and get off at the next exit to call 911.

Firemen, ambulance, LAPD, & Highway Patrol showed up.

Rushed me to emergency while being questioned if I had gotten shot in the leg due to the size of the hole in my leg.

Ended up with a broken fibula & ankle, miracle I didn't go down and suffer much more.

Sticthed & Stapled closed

Dressed me with a half hard & soft cast for 2 weeks

Than a full leg cast for 4 weeks after the doc removed the initial cast

Finally, put into a "boot" after 6 1/2 weeks

2 months out, I'm still wearing the "boot"

Walking, let along riding seems almost impossible for now since we're talking about my left leg.

But after hearing yours, it could be much worse. Get well soon bud. Take care your injuries, you'll soon be back to 100% I'm sure, we all are.
