bob: where are you located? i'm 17540....amish-land. let me know a price max and i'll search around for you this coming week. i find them quite often. 2008 and up ulysses is a very good choice. IMO was buells' best all-around bike ever.

That's a really great offer Mr. fringe.). Give me a couple weeks and I'll let you know. I'm hoping for some income ( $ ) in a little bit. Don't even have down payment right now. I'm 21601
so far it looks like I'd like an XT. I wouldn't be off-road even though we have a long gravel driveway. Hey ! we have chickens. The Buell will have to share garage space with a John Deere.

Probably snow on the ground in NE huh?

Yeah, I think a Uly would come in handy on those roads south of the border.

Yup plenty of snow. Seems to cut loose about every 3 days. More snow this winter than the last 3 combined!
Makes me dream of flying to SoCal. Taking a cab to Tijuana and riding that uly home the long way
.. maybe itd be spring when I got back lol

Personally, for an 06 I'd be looking for something closer to stock, although there are some good goodies on that bike. BTW I have an 06 Uly and enjoy it. Even road it coast to coast once. Buell engines already have a lot of torque and HP squeezed out of that engine without a Hammer Kit, Cams and ported heads. Get something low mileage, well maintained, clean and close to stock with sensible mods only at a good price. They're out there. JMO, good luck. Lots of help here on BuellXB.

This one? https://www.cycletrader.com/listing/2006-Buell-Ulysses-XB12X-121981842 its been on cycletrader for quite a while, i think ive been seeing it on there for 2 years?... Danbury does have to Uly's to choose from though!!

this one seems like a good price for the miles: https://www.cycletrader.com/listing/2008-Buell-Ulysses-XB12XT-5006223933

Yes, thanks to both of you. I've been looking at that blue Uly. Seems pretty good.

I was just curious whether the 1203 would hold up with those mods.

Great buy !!! IMO The Blue ^^^ I only see ADV Monster Auxiliary Lights, am I missing something ?

IMHO, I would buy the most stock Buell you can find, especially for my first Buell. More than 8000 miles but less than 30k miles is a mileage sweet spot for the least amount of problems for its age.
The '08-up thunderstorm engines have some upgrades and a slight price premium, but I have not had any major issue with the earlier bikes.
They are pretty legendary for dependability, why mess with that? Are you going to drag race it?

Re: the last two... That blue one has some lights on it, I don't think they are real special or anything. I was just wondering about the modified 06 at Danbury. Are those engine upgrades too much?

But, no, I don't have anyone to drag race with. My neighbors only have diesel powered tractors.

I'd like to be able to buy in a week or two and that blue one is at the top of my list so far.

That blue one seems to be a good deal, you can more than likely get it even cheaper than the asking price. If you would like and since I'm retired, I'll take a ride with you to look at it, preferably a weekend day.

Oopsy, I was thinking about the one in Danbury, the blue one out in West PA wouldn't make sense for a ride since, your out in PA already.

Probably never have an issue with it either. It's just not really worth any more money with the upgrades realistically. And unless you'll only use it for "bar hopping" or drag racing you'd be better off with a tried and true stock motor. More so for the sake of smoother rideability, likely less heat, and being easier to control than reliability.

I'm actually in Mary Land. I might have a look in a week or two. Let me know if you see a better deal on an XT. bob

Well, yeah, kicking tires until the "tax refund" gets here. A week or two. They didn't give me a tracking number.

I can see I've dragged this out too long. Just wanted to make the right choice.
