So I'll start off, and I don't have that much of an opinion of it really. The thing that really irks me is the fact that they're attacking the helpers (i.e. firefighters, secuirty), its as if there's a huge ordeal pushing for a Race War. What do the people want? As far as I can tell there's quite a bit of equality going around, Seems like some people just want to be seen or have an excuse to break the law? Then there's the people who are going into restaurants and protesting and bullying white people just because they're white... There's a picture of a black lady berating a white family for eating then bragging about it saying "they can't keep me down". my only comment is BITCH DON'T YOU HAVE A JOB TO GO TO? am I the only one that thinks like this?

I say if you want to make an ass of yourself hold a sign that says BLACK lives matter! If you want to make a difference hold a sign that says ALL lives matter you racist! Every time something happens to an African American their will be riots it's a new trend, so get use to it! If something happens that's not right or unjust no matter what your color, stand up for what you believe in but these people are just thugs! Example Trayvon, Michael Brown, ETC.

I blame the Internet "opinion exchange" taken as 'facts'.
Without instant 'news' and sensationalist close ups of burning cop cars, would you really care so much?

I'm all for free speech, but it should be taken with way more responsibility than they have now. Every A-hole with a twitter account is reporting the 'news'.
The longer the 'Media' sensationalizes it, the more it will happen. Even worse the Police have their hands tied as 'the instigators of the problem'. They can't do anything without the media blaming them for looking sideways.
Mistakes happen, good people go to jail (and die). There are bigots and aggressive a-holes on the force, you can't expect perfection in the justice dept.
Since perfection is impossible, I'd rather some mistakes are made, than a police state or anarchy. There is no middle ground and we're headed the wrong way as evidenced lately.

I was living in the middle of Hawthorne, CA during the last LA riots (1992) shit was burning in every direction. I watched the cops do nothing at the very beginning, and I blame THAT for the start of it. A single stupid a-hole tossing stuff at cop cars and they would just sit there.
A bunch of us long haired white boys were fairly scared in that house, watching gangsters looking for a fight walking in packs down the street.

It took over 10 YEARS for the grocery store chains to return to Watts/Compton, and most 'mom n pop' shops lost everything and closed forever.

I choose to be a part of the solution by keeping an open un-biased mind, and helping my fellow man, than being part of the problem by joining the hoodlums or turning a blind eye.

I blame news companies like CNN for all of this. They can report what they want to get the highest ratings and leave out parts of the whole story. And they make both sides look bad! One day they demonize all police, the next they don't report on the peaceful protests, only the rioting.

Unfortunately the days of the independent news agency are over. All news companies are owned by large corporations who have to answer to shareholders, and all shareholders care about is profits, and profits come through ratings. Not to get off topic but last year when that Malaysian plane went missing, CNN had people on the edge of their seats, speculating that the wreckage would be found any second. They didn't care to report that only a few years ago it took almost two full years to find the wreckage of an Air France plane that went down in the Atlantic. All they care about it ratings...

We were joking at work, watch how fast shit would stop (i.e. rioters), if they were downtown and they hit a Bank building or a Major Comerce or "big business" building. they would be all locked up! you can mess with your homes and place, but don't mess with Uncle Sams Money! haha.

I noticed in the headline story of the Baltimore daily newspaper this morning stated that a group of 75 ministers met yesterday with the leaders of the Bloods, the Crips and the the Nation of Islam leaders. [confused] WTF do they have to do with it? Or is there more going on here than the headlines are stating? The Islamic radical recruiters search for the young and impressionable to take up their cause. Starting chaos is right up their alley. Either way it doesn't look good for the home team. I suggest investing in lead, a lot of it.

Well I'm one of the few, if not only, black guys on this forum and I shook my head when I saw this topic for what I hope are obvious reasons.

I will agree with some of you with the general commentary of destroying your own neighborhood is stupid as f@ck. Anger should be directed at it's proper agitator. The people are mad at the justice system. Instead of destroying a local store they should go downtown and try that dumb shit near the capitol, then we would see how dedicated their cause really is. Also, YES they are freaking idiots for obstructing emergency respondents trying to help with the situation.

That being said...please don't underestimate decades of frustration due to clear racial mistreatment. That's one of those walk a day in my shoes type of things. You can't and won't ever be able to understand. Skin color offers inherent advantages and disadvantages,I hope we're all honest enough to admit that.

I'm sure we have ALL types on this forum. Please keep the racial and political stuff in it's proper place. If you feel strong enough about either of those topics then you probably have already commented on this as well as plenty of other things in other places on the web. This forum is a great place for learning about our bikes. Let's leave it there.

To me race doesn't really matter. It doesn't matter what race, creed or ethnicity you are. If you act like an ass you should be treated in the same manner. At no point should this or any protest escalate to these types of situations. I agree I can not relate to decades of racial mistreatment. Setting a city on fire as action to the death or mistreatment of another, does not and will not help the cause. I know this starts out as the actions of a few and then escalates within the mob mentality. That being said leaders wether religious or just in the community need to stop this from happening before it starts. Freedom of speech is one of our cherished rights, that being said it can also lead to our downfall as well. Look before you leap, think before you act. Some times the result of us not thinking will haunt us forever. It's just a matter of time before our civil rights are erased by actions like this. Protests will simply not be allowed anymore. Some people say it will never reach that, but we loose more rights every year in the name of protection by the government.

Every time the .gov says 'it's for your safety' they are taking something from you. Like your right to choose for yourself.

If someone here wants to say that the cops in Baltimore effed up, I doubt you'd have many people to disagree. Heck, The Balitmore police admitted wrongdoing.

If you want to agree with the mob (oops, I mean oppressed 'protesters'), that the reaction to a police mistake is to burn down your OWN neighborhood, drive out businesses and hurt your neighbors, you'd be wrong. It's been done since the 1960's and has NEVER had a good ending.
