BPG, I was wondering if you knew what batteries could be used instead of the factory Harley battery? 2007 XB9SX. The harley batter is crap, has given me nothing but issues, I'd love to replace it with a better/performance battery. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Fido,
I use the Odyssey PC545, I picked it up from Summit Racing Catalog, had an issue 2 years and 11 months into the three year warranty, replaced free of charge including the shipping, both ways NO Questions Asked.
I will now and forever get my batteries from them.

Odyssey make good batteries, from what I hear. I just did a search for my Blast (same deal - you should have an AGM (Advanced fiberGlass Mat) gel, sealed battery.

Do a google search for Deka ETX14, or just go with the Odyssey. Look for a long warranty. From what I have seen, the Odyssey pc545 only gets a two-year warranty for powersports use as opposed to automotive. I think ophawk got lucky, and they did right by him. Saw the Odyssey for $118. Probably will last twice as long as one you can find for $60-80 range.

Deka ETX14 is, from what I understand, the OEM battery (re-badged as HD).

Having a good battery, well-charged and maintained, will save your butt, save your starter and voltage regulator, and help your bike to run better.
