I gotta say gel cells are a little strange, they can really behave unusual. Several crazy scenarios during TS problems that didn't exist and just simply turned out to be the gel cell. It's been all over the map, anywhere from showing a good charge, but has zero output and can't crank to indicating near dead and cranking just fine. All kinds of operating problems in the middle of a ride, pulling over to investigate and it clears up. I also ride a Can-Am Spyder and some of the first year runs had either serious problems or nothing, much of it may very well have been just the gel cell, but got wrapped up in computer and wiring issues. Several peeps are now just changing gel cells everytime the "life expectancy" regardless if it's working ok. Not sure if this is a good policy, several of the gel cells were failing right off the showroom floor.
Only thing I am wondering is if these are possibly overworking the stators before they are absolutley dead. Watching my old battery activity compared to the new battery when my problems started to occur last month have me questioning a few things.
