I'm sure it's been covered before, but I am going for the conversion. I've found another forum setup where you replace the front/rear sprockets, idler pulley, and get a chain, and convert.....Is it really that easy? Let me know, i'm about 2 weeks from being stateside, and would love to have this done shortly after.

Also, having issues on whereabouts for OEM/Aftermarket Part for Buells. Anyone have a solid website that has everything for Buells? Thanks again.

1 Yes it's that easy, if I could figure out how to post pics i would.

2 Americansportbike.com

So what was your total for everything, and is it something that I would be able to do? I'm mechanical, but never done anything like this. Is it a kit on the website, or piece by piece?

Thank you for the reply.

Hey, i've been searching American Sport Bike for hours, and am having a hard time finding the parts for the conversion kit. I'm trying to order all the parts I need from the same website so I don't pay so much for shipping.

the kit is super expensive to buy... i have all the part numbers from when i peiced my kit togather... and also have a whole mess of front sprockets layin in the shop...

23 front and a 51 rear i believe is what gets you to stock belt so your speedo isnt off...

PM for the part numbers or if you want any front spockets... i also have 1 used rear i got from someone... not the prettiest sprocket but in good shape and id pretty much give it away....

Yeah i've heard the Trojan one is a bit pricey. I'm on the V-Twin catalog, and I am not sure which Rear Sprocket to get. The Vortex one is only a 38-48 teeth.

It's pricy because it comes with the tensioner and different gearing options. Most people convert their tensioner themselves

Ok, then I was on the wrong website. The sprocket on that is for the 520, does it make a difference in chains? The conversion that i've looked at says to get the 530 chain.

Sorry i'm so nubbish on this....but I really want to do this mod, and don't want to have to go through extra stress sending stuff back and forth.

no worries on the noob stuff, we all need to start somewhere and we all did it at one time :D

but yes that does make a difference in the chain, but not all chains are the same, some 520's are stronger than some 530's so don't get too hung up on pitch.

I am looking at doing a 520 conversion because EBR has a roller sprocket for the tensioner and its a 520 pitch. one less part to track down IMO.

vortex does have 530 pitch rear sprockets from 38-60 teeth as well

Delta there are 530 rollers sprockets out there I'll have to remember where I got mine ( I think Tractor supply) of all places

yea I knew there would be I just didn't know where to look, and didn't want to go through the whole trial and error bit. so using the one from EBR just simplifies the entire process for me.

but if you can give us a source and a part number it will surely benefit many buellers :D[up]

Without the sprocket Delta spoke of.

is that the cummins diesel pully?

I have heard of people doing that before, common part at autozone I'm told. I have also heard that skateboard wheels work but need to be modded a bit first. in fact I have even seen one or two pictures of guys using the stock belt tensioner, but I would bet that would be bad for the chain and loud as hell.

how is the noise level with the plastic tensioner?

Ok, so here it goes. I have the Chain in the cart, I'm getting th RK 530 XSO-X Ring Gold Race chain. I am about to buy the Vortex rear sprocket, but it doesn't have the Buell option. Just Honda, Suzuki, Yamaha, and Kawasaki. And the same with the Front sprocket.
