Yup diesel pulley, I havent noticed any noise at all once the chain rubs it's grooves in. Prior to that it was very minimal a slight whirring (if thats a word).

When i go into autozone, what am i exactly asking for when im looking for the diesel pulley? Thanks
Nathan

just go into an auto parts store and give them this number and they should have it in stock...

i beleive its off a 98-202 dodge cummins... my 04 cummins is different so must be the old body style (98-02)

Idler pulley; Gates # 38023 / $16.78

i pretty much had to go to chain... too much HP and TQ for drag racing... get 40 to 50 some passes out of a belt with all the clutch drops and it would snap...

waaaaay to much money to be buyin new ones all the time...

but your right if you dont NEED a chain its not the best route to go... kinda a pain in the ass...

why..... I not going to change untill I can't get the belt anymore
um... ok

there are all kinds of reasons why anybody would want a chain drive

durability for one

the ability to change gear ratios is another

parts availability, if I kill a belt while out on the road away from home I am going to have a hard time getting a replacement belt and then installing it on the bike.
not many shops have buell belts in stock but nearly every cycle shop has a 520 chain on the shelf should I throw one

maybe even cosmetics
