Best Leather Jacket????

+1 for Dainese. I have a really nice canvas jacket with pads on the elbows and shoulders and a place for a back protector. It was only $250 and is really comfortable.

I'll be picking up some of their full leathers this summer as well as I just got a track bike.

I have a Vanson jacket. Vanson are made here in the United States and I have mine with CE certified armor. I hit a deer at about 40 MPH in Northern California and tumbled for quite a ways with a Scorpion EXO-700 also and Frank Thomas gloves and Icon barrier pants. I was able to walk (limp) away with just broken hands. Vanson also makes full suits and pants that zip onto jackets. Pricy but GREAT leather if not the best out there.

I wear an Alpinestars leather jacket and the only problem I have with it is fit since I have wide shoulders compared to my waist, but I have that problem with all jackets

I am in the same boat there, I have a waist of only 30" and as far as my shoulders they are wide..... Guess I need to stop hitting the gym[smirk]

I might go for a jacket that is just a jacket and if need be buy a suit later down the line...

vents are good on this, but no liner. it's also pretty heavy, armored w/ back protector.

No cycle gears here in mich :(
Take a day and drive to sport bike track gear. Being skinny and long armed I am guessing a* will fit u best. Sbtg has a ton of jackets in stock worth the drive

I like Dainese too - purchased mine from Cycle Gear. Full armor and looks great.

Try some on and then search around for deals. Once you find your size, you might be able to find one used that will fit you.

I ride with icon. Comes with a quilted liner. Jacket is heavier but good shoulder vents and underarm vents. Downside it does have the exterior armor plating but ive been told numerous times that the jacket is awesome and i should wear it in public...I was thrown off my bike (nothing major panicked in a turn first time out and hit the curb) but it absorbed the shock very well.

I wear a HD jacket. I know, I know **** Harley... The reason I settled with it is very comfy all the time, well vented, it has internal pockets for armor and dosent look like a riding jacket. Had it 7 years and pretty much the same condition as day one. Probily the #1 reason I bought it was felt broken in from day one. A little expensive but my only regret was I didn't pay the extra 75$ for a zip out liner. I usually wear a hoodie so personally would only use the liner for xtreme cold temps. No pun intended.

Hope my ramblin helps

Frank Thomas has armored, there are so many Try Cycle Gear. Harley stuff Nah! No real protection.

I think Vanson is probably THE best, but I love my Dainese too.

Cycle Gear is pretty good about price matching and has a no questions asked return policy, so you can test out the jacket on your bike, if you like it keep it, if you don't, return it.

*edit: I wouldn't worry too much about pants zipper, any pants with a zipper include the other side, it is easy to get a zipper sewn in, though if you get a Vanson you are pretty much guaranteed to get a full circumference zipper.

I am also looking for a good Armored leather jacket and some riding pants.
I dont like bright colors or logos or other crap all over my jacket or pants or boots either (except for maybe a few buell/EBR logos are ok) I dont care to look like everyone else out there or be some walking/riding billboard advertising for some company like some people. I prefer dark colored jackets, like the Scorpion Stinger phantom jacket.

I like the Dainese Jacket you post Xtreme but it Definetly needs to loose the ugly wierd logos and the name front and back and then it would be good jacket , oh and the price needs to be cut down alot too.

Icon Motorhead is what I wear and imo the best leather jacket is the one your wearing when you go down (thats what she said!)
:D

Scorpion Stinger phantom jacket.

Read my mind I have been eye balling that one for sure, still between the Phantom and Black but I think it will be the route I take [up]

A* perforated leather is great. I've worn it in 110 degrees and unless you sit in traffic forever you stay cool. also worn it in 20 degree weather with the liner in and been plenty warm. had it for a season and about 7000 miles had to clean bug juice off it a few times been rain on once and it still looks like new.

I wear an A* MX-1. I added the harder armor in the back and chest. I'm 6'3 and skinny. The arms are a little short for walking around, but with the gauntlet gloves works fine riding. It zips to my leather pants, when I feel like wearing those. It breathes pretty good, but is still kinda warm here in Florida, but it is a very heavy jacket, I feel the cold air (almost too cold) on some winter days.
