Hey Buellers,

What do you use to take care of fogging up visors? Its getting cold in NE and its a morning issue.

The car?

Seriously, haven't found anything that works consitently besides keeping the shield open a crack.

I wear glasses so I also removed the breath deflector that is supposed to stop the shield from fogging. It would deflect and then my glasses would also fog up.

Anti-fog cleaner works pretty good 4 me i use the stuff made by SCOTT. Any motorcycle shop should carry some sort of anti fog spray. Not a whole lot u can do when its really cold but anti-fog cleaner beats driving the car anyday.

I've used Cat Crap before, it worked pretty well for snowboarding...and not bad for the visor.

Easiest is to crack the visor, it's what I've always done.

An anti fog visor. I'm pretty sure that any tinted or mirrored visor can not also be anti fog.

everything else is shit...

GET a PINLOCK.... van fit it to any visor...

works real well. have one in my helmet. ride all year round rain, hail or snow... works fine at -1 degrees Centigrade. that was the coldest I've ridden in...

I use Plexus, on both sides of the visor, also to clean the plastics on my xb9s. works really well for me, makes cleaning the "bug strikes" on the visor easy to clean off and the bike as well. kinda has the same affect as "RainX", but without the fogging issues...by the way Plexus is used in the aviation industry where I began working in general aviation, used on Cessna's to business jets... just in case you're wondering how well it stands up:D

Another option you might try is to stop by a scuba diving shop, they have anti-fog products that work really well...

Rain X on the outside and Rain X Anti-fog on the inside. Love it and it Works extremely well.

buy a better helmet

I have a Shoei Qwest. I would say its a pretty good helmet and it has a anti fog visor.

I was looking at cat crap or something similar. Thanks for the suggestions.

Rain x isn't supposed to be used on plastic. Pinlock does work great. I have one in my new Nolan and so far it has worked great.

I've used it for over 2 years with nothing but good results and a buddy using it on his HD windshield longer than that.

Yep, Rain-X (or who-ever the maker is) Anti Fog.

I also wear glasses. I put it on the inside of the shield and the inside of my glasses.

BUT....my new, (almost a year old), Shoei, RF-1100 visor and the Anti-Fog don't seem to work together (not compatable) very well. The shield stays sorta foggy all the time, till it wears away. Doesn't seem to hurt it, just doesn't keep the fog away very well.
ALL...of my other past helmets visors have been fine.

So...when it rains...I go back to my last helmet...my old Arai. Works great, it even keeps the water out better.

Mike
