I'm posting this is topic as kind of a general request for opinions about how to get my Uly running the best that it possibly can. Don't get me wrong, it runs pretty good now, starts up everytime, has a K&N, stock exhaust, new TPS, NGK plugs, Magnecor wires, updated ECM map, Sea Foam run through, etc. It might be my imagination, but I still have this ever so minor weirdness, like a semi miss, lean out, or whatever it is, at ~3K rpms or lower. I don't think it is an intake seal leak because I had that on my other harley, and it doesn't seem the same, although it could be a very small leak. I do have new James seals, just haven't gotten around to changing them. I did spray around the intake and didn't notice a big RPM change. I might try it again.
So, the big question is: should I get an aftermarket exhaust, with the EBR ECM that is tuned for it. Or should I try to do some data logging runs and continue to try and tweak the map in my ECM? I'm not unhappy with the bike, and its performance, I am just hoping that I can get rid of this stumble that is ever so subtle. The AFV stays at 100, but I did see it go to 105 once.
Thanks in advance to the knowledgeable forum members who will be so kind as to chime in. Also, if anyone in the Houston area would like to ride my Uly and/or let me ride their XB12, it might help me to determine if this is real, or just the nature of the beast. The bike is almost perfect, and if I can't eliminate this, I'll just accept it as part of the Buell XB "character" The Uly happens to be my first fuel injected bike, after many years of happy carbing.
