Hyhros, elixir 3's. Those maybe the first things that get upgraded, but I will give them a thrashing and see how they hold up.

Nice Scott mowgoli If we had some downhill here in Florida I would be into that for sure.

It has not been GF for a while now, Trek just made it official. I demoed a lot of bikes and I liked this bike the best. Stumpjumper 29er was a close second.

i still have a gary fisher mullet in the collection. Hey, if you are looking to upgrade brakes get ahold of me. I run/manage a bike shop so I can get you them at cost + shipping..and maybe a beer ;) I dont mind hooking fellow buellers up at cost.

I use all shimano saint on my fr/slope bikes. And avid xx or xo's on my trail bikes. I still gotta get the crank set for my scott voltage.. everything else is done.

picked up my redline cyclocross last night, had it fitted with road tires for now (so I can ride rollers, but so far I stink on them) and also had it upgraded to all 105 running gear and shifters (except the suicide brakes) plus a road cassette (for faster gearing).

It also has mounting points for disk brakes front and rear so I may end up trying them some time in the future.

I had a GHP Bmx race bike with a Redline Flight crank when I was a kid and all the mods you could think of. Wish I had pics. My last mountain bike was a Schwinn. It got stolen 10 yrs ago. I never bought a bike since.

@mowgoli84, what would you recommend for some replacement forks on my 2006 Specialized P1? I use it for urban riding and and skate park stuff that's it. Was thinking of a solid front fork rather than a susp styled fork. Any thoughts or help would be awesome.

Thanks
Brandon

I also found that I can get my old proflex mountain bike fixed for about $150 so it will be back on the trail this spring. :D[up]

xtreme atomlab makes a sick fork, great for street riding and park!. it gives the feel of a rigid fork but has 60mm of travel so it still absorbs alot.the only thing is it is a threw axle front wheel so if you currently have a quick release wheel it wont work with out a new wheel. but i highly recommend this fork! heres a link...http://www.atomlab.com/mtbforksgi.html

I have a through axle wheel up front they had to use some adaptor kit to make it quick release to fit my current forks so I would be set on that.

I will look into those, I just hate how my forks suck up all the energy while I am riding in the bowl. But only having 60mm might be fine as my current forks are 100mm and have no lock out and out top of that are blown out.

I wouldn't run a rigid up front bec I'm not that good. It helps to soak up the mistakes. Sounds like you do need something different though.

@extreme.

It all depends on what kind of travel you are looking for. On my street/urban bike I use a Marzocchi DJ series 100 mm fork and use a stiff spring to stiffen things up.

You may like ridged, I have friend that have gotten tire pressure down to an absolute science, and they say if you get that right, you dont need suspension on a trials/urban bike.

Another option would be the Rock Shox Argyle RC. It offers a little more adjustably over the Marzocchi DJ and is around the same price. (depending on wether u want Argyle RC or RCT.. the RCT is significantly higher.

As far as rigid goes, I have many options there as well... I'd recommend a DMR Trailblade 2 Rigid Fork in that category.

Hope this helps.. Look em up and let me know if you have any questions. I know pedal bikes ;) I've worked in shops for 10 years now ;)

Awesome, I think I will go with a rigid, since any type of travel will eat up the pumps in the park. I dont jump the bike like they are really built for so I am not to worried about the travel so soften a 30+ft jump.

Just got my third Totem Solo air.. one on three diff bikes now lol Gonna go vivid air on the rear soon.

I also found that I can get my old proflex mountain bike fixed for about $150 so it will be back on the trail this spring.

I've got an old ProFlex too!

Whats wrong with it?

Bike looks good delta, my current bike is a cyclocross with street tires too. Works great, and eases my conscience when I'm jumping over sidewalks and bunnyhopping potholes.

yea i get worried with my kona too. not sure it can handle it. :p but seriously i put some "street" tires on my mtb and it cruises. my street tires are 2.35" wide so i dont blow them out riding off of drops but they are so much faster on pavement than knobbies its almost unbelievable. im sure those road bikes are even faster, ive never ridden a road bike.
