The title says it all.. The stater wont get it going but I can push start and it will run as long as I keep it reved up. The second I let it go to idle it dies. Any advice?

Have you been riding it this season much or are you just finally getting it out of winter storage? If you haven't cycled through a full tank since storage you may have gummed up tank and carbs. If you stored it did you use fuel stabilizer? If this is the case I would change out the gas, clean the carbs and maybe even change the plugs.

Even a one year old motorcycle battery may need to be changed, especially if you didn't use a battery tender during the winter. I'd look into replacing the battery perhaps.

You may need to check the ignition module if the above don't solve your issue.

Ride year round even in coldish weather (North Florida) The ignition turned it over this after noon but Im still thinking Carb/ boot. Does anyone one know if Thump-e is still around somewhere and if he still sells the super das boot

What kind of bike is it? Assuming by your last post either a carbed tube frame, or a blast.

EDIT: Disregard, didnt notice this was posted in the Blast section, just saw it on the main page...LOL

id disassemble carb and blow all the air and fuel circuts out with compressed air.

edit* ok i read a few other carb problem posts and seasoned blast veterans are saying "never dissamble your carb unless it is gummed up by bad gas" so disregard the newbies advice. it just sounds like a slow speed or idle circuit was plugged to me. thats my first inclination. guess this is a whole other animal.

Sounds like your air fuel screw was backed out too far and fell out. Make sure its there.

newish battery
Newish? We need this guys man card revoked. If you are a female please disregard my manly humor [up]LOL
Even a one year old motorcycle battery may need to be changed,
At the very least I'd have it checked by a professional before you start spending money. Most newer vehicles will NOT run correctly if the battery has a dead cell or is weak. If you ride year round you shouldn't ever need a battery tender.
Good luck-:)

OK pushed started will run but now keeps reves wayyyyyyy up once I let go of the accelerator. Will idle just fine though

das boot changed.... Any one want the damn thing I officially give up!!! I have put 3x the the bikes worth to keep it running If no takers in 24 hrs I am pushing the thing into the street and whoever takes it can have it!

3x the bikes worth? You bought a plug and a boot for it.

From your posts here, sounds like you haven't done much at all.

You changed the boot and spark plug. It revs high when you let off the throttle but idles ok...that's an oxymoron.

Give the bike to someone else that's willing to post more thorough, detailed descriptions of what the bike is doing and what they have done.

OK heres the list of shit done. Spark Plug. Complete tranny rebuild, new exhaust, Front Forks the effing belt The back shock has been done. The Revs stay high and eventually back down. I just am done fucking with it. I will not buy another American/ Harley made motorcycle again. And EZ it wont stay running now it will start idle for a few seconds and then die. I have tried to love this bike I have but I'm at my wits end. So now one of two things I can really narrow it down to. Carb problem or ignition module problem. I have over 5000 miles on it and I cant do it no more.
