ok, had my bike serviced this week, gettin ready for the nex dyno run, the only thing i had the dealership do was new plugs, change oil and filter, and check my forks. it didnt seem to be idling right. check engine light came on about 20 minutes of riding, and it would sputter off the line. very jerky in low rpms and eentually the bike stalled and now wont start. it turns over like it wants to start, but never does. also theres what sounds like a loose peice of metal shaking around when the bike turns over and fires. any thoughts ? PLEASE HELP!

You check the plugs to make sure they didn't screw up. A plug wire may not be connected good. Next thing would be the norm; check fuses & swapping relays. That's off the top of my head, but I know I'd be on the phone w/the dealership 1st thing in the morning.

ok, drained some oil off, and was able to get it started and ride it home(5 miles). once i shut it off, i now cant get it started. The fuel pump wont even turn on now. The turn signal and the hi-beam indicators on my cluster are always on, and the fuel pump wont turn on, thus will not turn over. everyonce in a while i can get the pump to turn on, the starter will click oncce, and the engine light flashes. then nothing again. Thoughts anyone?!

battery is fine, all relays and fuses are good. problem started after the oil change and new plugs. dealership is closed until tues, so im outta luck until then. the bike starts here and there and will run for a while, but eventually stalls out.

when you measure the oil in cold condition, where is the level?

did you check the plug wires? are the fitted 100% correctly?

yea, plug wires are good, when i got the bike back, i measured it cold, and it was overfull by quite a bit. after i drained some off, its sitting in the full mark with the engine still cold.

well, this has created a huge headache for me. went from a perfectly good bike, gettin ready for a new tune, to a bike that wont even start. This HD tech is in for a beating.

ok after some heavy reading, ive concluded i was also getting a code from the engine light blinking that the engine temp was too hot. ive let it sit since last night, and all that happens when i turn the bike on is the Hi beam, and blinker indicator lights on the speedo stay on. Still no headlight, and no fuel pump engagment.

SO, i got it started this morning after replacing plug wires, and putting new plugs in. still backfires like crazy, but its a step forward. i'll keep ya posted.

so, got the bike started for a few minutes, ran ok, reved up fine. then same thing as before. shut down on its own and the engine light flashed a bunch of time. wont engage fuel pump, blinker and hi beam indicators are on. WTF? the plugs seem to be flouling out after 1 or 2 starts. Fouled plugs keeping it from starting? and is this related to the overfilled oil?

How have you checked you're engine codes? You have ECMSpy or did you use the jumper wire method?

so i put in new plugs, drained and replaced oil. I drained off 3.2 liters........ bike started up, i rode it around the block, and engine light comes on, then turns off when the fan kicks on. Fan only stays on for 10 seconds or so, then the engine light comes on, and it will idle around 1500. rode the bike back into my garage and shut it off. Now it wont start like before. the new plugs i put in were fouled out somethin fierce too. Now its back to square one. Blinker and hi beam indicators are on, no engine light, no start. nothin...

oki...did you check your oil level? and how?

check your fault codes and see what they say.

let us know...

in the mean while, do not try and start or run the bike.
